hey guys sorry if this is a repeat thread but i couldn't find any asking quite what i'm asking about......

basically i'm about to get new coil packs spark plugs O2 sensors and i need new cat's coz mine are f*#ked, then i wanna get a nistune daughterboard to help with economy and performance and was wondering if there is any difference in doing one or the other first? i drive a N/A 1990 Z32 2+0 T-Top if that makes a difference?

Would apreciate any feedback on whats better and whether or not any of it is pointless

Do all the mods first then fit the daughter board with a basic tune installed on the board by Matt then drive to a dyno tuner with software for NISTune.

Won't matter, you can get the NIStune with a standard tune(what i have) and then do your other mods/plans or vice versa. Also don't expect to gain that much power on an otherwise standard car.

make sure your car is running 100% before you go and tune it, so fix up all your other problems which are causing bad fuel economy first. otherwise you are just wasting money and you won't gain as much. you shouldn't need a tune to fix fuel economy issues and i'm pretty sure in the closed loop section of the fuel map the ECU reads off the O2 sensors and adds/trims fuel to keep the air/fuel ratio around 14.7:1.

if i fix all my mods first then get the daughterboard and nistune what can i expect efficiency wise coz i'm only getting about 400km's to a tank, can i expect much better?

don't mean to be rude but that doesn't really answer my question on how much better fuel efficiency is after installing nistune and getting her dyno'd, i wanted to know rough guesstimates from people who have done it recently, preferably in an N/A

Well not to be rude, its the same as asking how long is a piece of string. It will all come down to the tuner and if you tune it for outright power, fuel economy or a mix and taking into account all cars are different. As for NA's with NIStune, i'm not aware of any others apart from myself and mine is untuned.

    Here to be clear

Getting the Nistune hardware installed in your ECU can be done at any time.
It comes pre-loaded with the base tune to suit the ECU/Car you have specified with your order.
So, you can do the purchase/installation at any time that suits you, and the car will run exactly as per before the installation.

Assuming you go the Nistune route first, what you should not do is attempt to get the vehicle tuned or self tune (road tune) if the vehicle is having issues.
Get the issues sorted out first.

Even if the car is healthy, you can't road/self tune for economy without having Wide Band O2 sensors as a bare minimum.
Get a professional tune done, and if you have WBO2's you can tweak around the edges if you feel confident.
