went to the hastings festival and car show this sunday. had a great run down there, cruised down with peter and jan, and red z mikey ,and a few others from the nissan car club.

and had a great day. there was a great display of cars from vintage, classic, to present day on show. and i must say some great looking machines that people put a great deal of time and effort into.

thanks to peter and jan, and red z mikey. pumped mikey for some information about what i should do with a few modes i have planned.

i must say his car could be a contender for the king of bling watch out simon lol thanks for your company guys its good to hang with good people.cheers bigmax.

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

Sorry, taken a while to get this done ...
This was more than just a car show, more like a small country town version of the Royal Show, with cars being judged instead of livestock and cakes :p:p:p. In the cars dept, there was something for everyone - rods, street machines, Yank iron, Aussie metal, Nissans, restored vintage, etc.

No trophies to any Nissans, but those cars that did win deserved them.

RedZed2 made it's first "formal' appearance

There were a few girlie screams from this ride (the one in the background!!!) on the day - no it wasn't me - you wouldn't get me on this thing no matter how you tried.

Bigmax and Wykked were also there representing the Z32, and NDSOC also had an R31 Skyline and an R33 GT-R there on the day.

I've never seen so many Vauxhalls in one place before. This fully restored '32 probably gets some wedding duties

One of my favourites on the day was this '69 Camaro - Yenko 427 big block version. A serious machine, restored rather than modded. I hope the young bloke that went up to get the trophy was the owner's son - he only looked about 18!

Note that in the above pic there were a few boats there as well ... and here is another one! Well, OK, it's an early-mid 60's Ford Thunderbird. One of my dream cars when I was a 7 year old, until the Oldsmobile Toronado came along.

Red is just the best isn't it :D:D:p. here a '47 Ford sits next to a '69 Mach 1 Mustang

There were several hot rods there on the day, most sporting blowers like this one

One of my fave cars on the day was this De Tomaso Pantera, complete with big block Ford and 2 big Holleys sitting right behind the driver. Yes, there is a plexiglass shield between the seats and the engine bay. And as for having no rear interior plastics, who needs them when you've got bling like this to show off! Got me thinking .....

There were a couple of snakes there on the day - here's a Cobra, this won Best Engineered - that is a twin supercharged 427 big bolck crammed into the engine bay

And here's a python, out for show and tell. i was hoping for a Viper as well, but no such luck

Last but not least, Charlie the Croc was also on a day out. Lots of young and not-so-young hands taking advantage while his snout was taped shut

All in all, a good relaxing day out, plenty of showie food to fill me up, and lots of people asking questions about the Z. reckon I'll be going back to this one in the future.

    Cheers, Mikey.

    red32 You talkin' to me?

I was intending to come down, but when I awoke at 0730 after going to bed at 0530, I thought "Bugger it!", rolled over and went back to sleep.

Very nice pics Mikey. I agree, we will definately have to go back next year. The show really did have a little bit of everything, including off-shore powerboat racing in the morning when we first arrived. Jen didn't take too many pictures but here is one she did snap of the NDSOC display.
