I don't know what the difference between
ECU-Talk and Nissan Consult cable is.
Which software is free and which software is paid for
    {which software is useful}

Then there are different versions of Nissan Consult cable like the pic below
    (which is a Consult II)

I wonder if this is worth getting?

so far havent bought any softwares. just their demos.. will be purchasing the nds dash, their interface looks great. Calumsult would have been my first choice if I could just make it fullscreen in my carpc...

    CalumSult
    ConZult
    ecu talk
    nissan datascan.

Oh well, maybe this can be the inexpensive hardware platform for those forum. members who are writing software.

no softwares came with mine bought it exactly from that guy... I had to source it all out from the web. he sent me this server link which i never worked out. probably outdated at his end.( or just cant be stuffed)

I never really thought you'd get any full software anyways since you have to pay for the license of the software to run it.

price wise its cheap for the hardware...

That won't work for our cars - it's OBD II

yes, OBD I plug, but for OBD II. In other words, it's for the USDM 300ZX from 1996 onwards.

    Evidence is their own spec:

    Tested vehicles (Area, software)
1996 Nissan AD Resort 1.6 (Taiwan, ECUTalk)
    1996 Nissan Cefiro 2.0 A32 (Taiwan, ECUTalk)
    1996 Nissan G20 (Taiwan, ECUTalk)
1998 Nissan Cefiro 3.0 (Taiwan, ECUTalk)
    2000 Nissan Cefiro 2.0 A32 (Taiwan, Datascan)

These will all be OBD II.

Funny, I've got the exact product.. mine works PERFECTLY. and I've got an auspec '93. It clearly states its a 14 pin so obd 1 hardware.

providing you know where to grab the softwares.. I'm sure a quick search in this forum will show you all about softwares and the links you need.

The seller probably just did a copy and paste with his description.

Sorry to bring this up again,

Does anyone have Datascan working on a Win7 or 8 laptop ?

I did have DataScan working on W7, but haven't tried it since upgrading to W8. ECUTalk works fine on W8, as do other apps using Bluetooth to access my ConsultBT device.

I have ecu talk but need more info that datascan has. Or does ecutalk have everything?

Get ECUTalk, try it out, and work it out yourself. It's a little hard for me to say that it does everything that you need it to, or not.

I have data scan on Win8, it works fine...
If you are installing from the ECUtalk CD, browse the CD directory contents instead of selecting the download link from the browser window and run the installer from there with administrator privledges (Right click > run as admin).
