hi all, i am new to the z scene being a commodore man in the past. lol dont hold that against me.
i am curious about safety boost and how it affects the car.
my car will rev to about 4-5000rpm and then the motor feels like it has died for a split second and then you can keep on driving,it actually feels like you have applied the brake.
i have only recently purchased the vehicle,it has a boost controller hooked up whick i have wound up and wound right down to the point where it was closed and the symptoms were still the same.
does this sound like safety boost or does safety boost purely limit the boost to 7psi and let you accelerate normally, because at the moment my fiances au falcon would blow me away as i have to change gears around 4000 just to keep the forward momentum going.
if this does not sound like safety boost any ideas as to what???
if it means anything i have a hks twin tank intercooler, twin hks airpods and a turbo timer.
thankyou all for your time.this forum is awesome and i have read every tech section and so much more.
looking forward to being part of the club and getting to meet some of the fellow zx owners.
after reading all the gilgandra posts though i would look it up and was saddened to see it was near dubbo,i live in newcastle and for some reason i had though it was on victoria.so hopefully next time i will be there.
so please dont forget help me please lolregards brett...

No your not running safety boost...

by having an aftermarket boost controller you cant run in safety boost because your car no longer has control over the boost level. It runs at whatever psi of boost you set it to.It can retard the timing and a few other tricks depending on what the ECU thinks is going wrong. I suggest checking the ECU for error codes and checking the o2 sensors. Also clean every single connector you can. Go from there.
