Would Cone Spray Angle information help? Cone Spray Angle - 22.4 degrees - single spray cone. Approximate cone angle for 90% of spray volume That's for the 52lb injector from http://www.eficomponents.com/bosch/bs_5.html
I'll find out price on JUST the rail kit with no injectors. Doesn't matter what top feed system you use you MUST have an adapter to run the top feeds to the lower plenum. Even the BDE has adapters for the lower plenum to ensure the seal is positive against leaks. Again for all of you reading...if you have questions please email me.
Looks like the Bosch EV14 injectors can be ordered with different spray angles and single or twin spray. Details in this Bosch Motorsport Document.
95+ series 2 injector connectors aren't straight fit either. Need to splice in the bosch connector to new harness, could be more happy if there were option for adapter or provision for nismo 760cc injectors which are direct fit to 95+ harness.
Change Just change your injector plugs, It's not a major job and only takes about an hour or so, as long as the new ones you buy fit.
thats like saying staying clear of intercoolers with weld marks. If its pressure tested and has no leaks...theres no concern.
I think he's more concerned that it's made from multiple pieces of metal... unlike a single billet rail haha
Not with the Rochester injectors. The end of the injector that retains the lower Oring actually fits straight down the lower plenum injector hole with no adaptor or lower plenum seal required. Have a good look at the pic I posted see how the Rochester injector end (which has the Oring on it) is long compared to the Bosch one.
You have to look at it from a different stand point. Many don't want to dick around with finding alternatives on fuel injectors. Many absolutely have no clue what to look for. Many would rather just buy a kit and call it quits and not have to worry about looking for other parts to use. When we develop parts we have to appease the masses not a handful of individuals. If those individuals care to modify their own system after they've purchased this item...that is well within their right to do so. However for the large percentage (community wise) we have to be very careful on what we sell as a kit to ensure that the masses have everything they need for a simplistic install as possible.
Not really, Here is Rochester injectors fitted with NO collars . The install works great. I asked about the rail from this kit purely because the fit and finish is there without any of the extra metal work i have to do to complete the custom one I have here. I am not trying to pour cold water on this kit AT ALL. I reckon it's terrific. But i would like to use the injectors I have here instead seeing i Already have em. I am very surprised he hasnt tried the Rochester style injectors as they seem to offer an easier solution for them. With way less parts required.
Thats what I was about to comment on, less parts less effort and makes it cheaper to manufacture and resell = more sales
Fuel Rail info... rochester vs. bosch I like the idea of the rochester injectors a lot (no more adapter), but at the moment, if the injectors are the same length as the bosch, they will not fit correctly as the bosch ones I am using now sit about 12mm higher than the rochesters would be fitting in the rail putting them right at the bottom of the leg with the o-ring. IF SOMEONE can get me all the details on the rochester injectors and sizes (cc's or lbs) and if they are still high impedance, i may look into adjusting the leg length to accommodate them or even offering a second rail to use them in addition to the bosch rail.
FYI the Rochester/Delphi style injectors is very much an industry standard in terms of phisical size. Bosch, Siemens, Delphi/Rochester and a few others all have the same injectors with identical external dimensions. I have had 870cc Bosch and 1000cc Siemens and both fit my rail perfectly and I expect will fit yours as well. The Siemens family for these injectors is PHR, I will try to get dimensional data for you
is it also a case of how far into the lower plennum the injector sits? is that what the collars also do give you correct depth into plennum?
racetronix seem to have dimension data for injectors: I don't know if this is the correct injector...
From what I can see from the pics of the kit. With the adaptor on the Bosch injector end only JUST makes it into the lower pleum. The Delphi/ Rochester actually extend down into the lower plenum like the original Side feed Pintel injectors did. IE: they seem to fit better.
there are only 2 things that I think are important 1/similar spray pattern to nismo injectors 740cc pintleless 2/injectors sitting in correct depth as the nismo's would whether it has collars with bosch or no collars with Rochester's doesnt bother me..both will work fine. ..do the injectors sit in at different depths from series 1 plennum compared to series 2 plennum?
