Are these OEM Rob?

 

guilty as charged. i think ive sent you a million PMS about the starters rob.. sorry for being such a pain

I AM 100% in .. lock it in eddy hopefully we can get this rolling as my starter has started eating away my flywheel and im having some embarrasing whirring noises when i try and start the car sometimes ..



for everyones interest. i priced new starters. they are 340US delivered from Coz . (that includes core charge)

so 285 is a BARGAIN and a half

I recently paid over $1000 for a part to be shipped ex Japan thru the local Nissan dudes and to have it installed.

If any of your starters are going dodgy ( throw out mechanism seems to be the achilles heel ) grab one at that price.

If you buy remanufactured or second hand you just inherit someone elses problems with sugar coating.

Could be interested depending on a couple of answers .....

1) As John/Cresta asked - are they OEM starters, in Nissan packaging?
2) Is any form of core charge or return of old starter motor involved?
3) Is that $285 delivered; if not how much for postage to 3201?

I'm a probable, guessing that the starters are made in Taiwan where a lot of this sort of replacement stuff is made.

 

Nissan wouldn't have made the original, it would have been made by Mitsubishi Electrical or one of the other Japanese electrical manufacturers. If it doesn't come in OEM spare parts packaging I'm not interested as I don't want to risk a similar issue to the cheaper aftermarket water pumps. A 12 month warranty is useless to me as I would be buying it as a shelf item for the future - might still be on my shelf in 12 years let alone 12 months!
