I am looking at getting a new set of rims for my 1989 300ZX TT Auto.

I have came across a great deal on a set of 18 x 9 Pinnacle Wire Wheels. 100 Spoke.

My question is, will these fit on my Z. I assume I will probably have to get some spacers to clear the front brake calipers but is there anything else I will need to measure/check, or is it just not possible.

I am also unsure whether 9" is too wide. I would like to have made a decision in the next 24hrs while they are in town, otherwise it will become a 200km drive to collect them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Need offsets to answer your question.

9" isn't too wide but it all comes down to what your offset is.

    My wheels are
    Front
    18x9.5 +35
    Rear
    18x10.5 +45
And they will fit with some camber. If the offsets were closer to 0, the tops would stick out past my guards without more negative camber being applied to my suspension arms.

    This will help

Firstly you will need to find out what bolt pattern these have(and whether they are compatible with the Z32 fitment).
If they are compatible, you will need to 'trial fit' them to see if they clear your calipers(if they don't, you will have to get adapters made, and that can be quite expensive).
Assuming all this is possible, you have one more issue to consider....MOST people who fit aftermarket rims to their cars, are also hoping to reduce the un-sprung weight of the tyre/rim combination so as to improve road-holding/handling/ride comfort. This is extremely unlikely with 100 spoke Wire wheels, as they are much heavier than Stock or aftermarket Mags.
All of this must be weighed against the final costs AND the original reasons for wanting these rims.

Hope this is of some help when making your decision.:zlove:

haha wire wheels on a 300ZX. while it's gonna be different and i wouldn't mind seeing it, you might run into issues with brake clearance as mentioned.

test fit is the only way to guarantee they'll clear.

9" is not too wide, with the right offset even 10" will fit just fine under the rear guards.

Thanks for everybody's help. I did a photo shop with the rims. Not looking that good now. I'm not going to post the pic but lets just say it started to resemble a Delorean. Thanks for all info, this will make it easier to when finally making a choice on something better.

ed300zx - The offset wasn't marked on the rims and the dude selling them was fairly useless with info. The pics you supplied now makes the offset more understandable and if I'd known this before, I could have taken some measurements.

Chili - The bolt pattern was fine, this I did check. Trial fit was not possible as they are currently at a swap meet. The main reason for new rims, is because I hit some roadworks in Toowoomba and have put a flat spot in all 4 rims currently fitted to my Z.

MikeZ32 - I am nearly tempted to post the photoshop pic just so you can also have a chuckle. As I said "Delorean"

    Deloreans are cool though.

Dowit or the doc will get angry and go back to the future.

But they won't go in a Z. Bit of a shame, I think the Z would be cooler. lol

Just bang the pic up. Haha. Always good to see new styles coming out. Even if they don't work. At least we as a whole know we've seen the idea played with.
