They see me stripping, they hating...

lol. Sorry iCER, I actually laughed a little when I saw the pics and what you were trying to do...I couldn't help but. The last pic is funny because you look really confused... :)

Umm, as everyone has already mentioned, most of the aftermarket kits sell the rear part as an apron. Which attaches to the original rear bar and fits nicely where the line is. You can still buy complete rear bars, but there are only a couple I know of. The majority of bodykits sell this apron you have.

Basically you have to use bodykit glue and screws to stick it on. And it's better to spray the whole bar together in one hit, rather than just the fiberglass section only. So it's a good thing you removed the rear bar actually because then you can spray the whole thing without it affecting the rest of the car...so there is a positive out of all of this. :)

Just out of curiosity...I take it you're a shoot first as questions later kinda guy right? :p

    Good luck.

    Rob.

    5K1TZX Its all never ending....

not really too much of a bad move though.........

I bought one of these cheap as shit Ebay bars exactly like that one and it didnt fit without possibly snapping the thing in 50 places first.....Wasnt wide enought so had to cut and shut it with fibreglass where the number plate part is.......but only paid 30 bucks for it and reinforced it again with 70 bucks of fibreglass and its good like I paid 300 bucks plus!.....:)

But anyway....even doing a test fit like what ur doing I still would have removed the factory bar to prevent possible scratching to the upper part when they both meet in the middle, then when fitted up, reinstall as 1 piece...unless fitment is like a apsolute glove....I would have removed anyway for testing :p

very funny stuff mate, but to salvage whats left of the situation:

try fitting the bar now, and fit it properly. yes these are an apron bar, and if you walked up to a lot of cars with these apron bars you can rip these off in a matter of seconds as a lot of people only silkaflex these on.

while its off i'd bolt it up properly and get it sitting flush properly - a lot of these are a really poor fit so why the rear bar is off you could mould it to the rear bar properly.

yep got my silkaflex ready and just trying to locate places to put bolts to make it not look TOO gay. kinda hard though!

    mrkarter77 No Really, They do!!!

see if you can plastic weld, or mount some bolts to the inside of it, then bolt on the inside of the rear bar, and will make it harder to come off..
