First off, hello everyone. I have been lurking here a bit and trying to read up on VG engines. I have 2 VG powered imports at the moment (but no Z's); a VIP widebody Y31 Cima (VG30DET) and a stock Y32 Cedric (VG30DE)
I hope you guys dont hate me for not owning a Z, i just figured i have a similar engine and this is probably the closest forum i can find for info on these cars (well the engine at least)!

Anyway, i was wondering if anyone has got a stock clutchfan lying around that they could measure for me (i.e. someone who has recently put an electric fan in)?

I need to know the fan diameter, and the diagonal distance between the mounting holes on the waterpump side
Oh and the 'height' of the fan when it is sitting face up on the waterpump mount.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and here are my rides... Blipman and J-Spec helped me get the Cima (cedric was sourced locally)

sort of like an older BMW look wise aren't they. I'll measure the fan when

    I get home.

Thanks, I've been told it looks like a beemer

...As well as a bentley (its a huge car!)

I bought it with a blown motor, and i'm already regretting not putting a DET or DETT engine in it! Parts are so hard to find for this car/engine!

    Thanks!!

Hehe, yep i'm right into it. The fusa (White knot with 2 tassels) is such a defining VIP accessory i had to have it. I also got a gold rope Kintsuna since then (like on the Junction Produce cars).

Replacement struts are due on the 14th of Nov, so by the 15th i hope to be up and running again!

j-lew, thats interesting, i'll have to look into that (cant remember what they looked like!)

Thanks for the comments guys, i cant wait to get it out and drive it again (has a popped air strut at the moment). For now i am just concentrating on making my Cedric work again without overheating!

No recent engine shots, its almost all white now from the primer dust that got in there during the respray. With the water restrictions i cant wash it at home :(
I'll see what i can find at home though...

    Ok, if you insist :)

Here's the engine bay... Stock as a rock (just a whopping big exhaust), and filthy as hell. Cant wait to get a pressure hose onto it!

And some more exterior pics (i was mucking around with the airbags in some of them - i dont think i would drive at that height!):

    fan diameter is 450mm

    Cool, thanks for that...

I got the other measurements in a response to my Wanted post, and the fan diameter was the only thing i was missing.

I'll check tomorrow and hopefully i can use a 300ZX fan instead of a $400+ cedric fan!!

Got anymore pics of the Cima?

My mates Cima is about to arrive from WA soon and he is thinking of putting a kit and wheels on it.. Just wandering if you had anymore to see what he thinks of it?

Most of the other pics are from when the car was hot pink...

I only had it for one day after the respray before i popped a suspension strut :(
(its currently sitting a few cm off the ground in my driveway and its in an awkward position to take pics)
Anyway, mine might not be the best example because it has alot of bodywork on it.

But are a couple of milder kitted Cimas which might inspire your friend

Mine? Or the ones on the Cima's in the links?

Mine are Work Equips. I'd rather not state the dimensions cos i'm paranoid about who reads these forums
Suffice to say that they wouldnt fit on a regular car
