I'm going to be installing a couple of amps, front splits and a sub shortly and would like to get some photos showing how everyone is installing their gear.

I drive a 2 seater so I would prefer installs that make use of the space behind the seats for amps and such.

Show me what you've got :)

Did a search before posting. I found two threads that were relevant out of a few pages worth. I'm after a broad range of installs so I can weigh up my options before making a decision about which way to go.

I'm doing a bit of work on my audio setup as well. I did a quick search for ideas, but didn't find anything suitable for me.

It would be great to have a car audio gallery. categorised by chasis, and boot space.

I'm working on my 2+2, and I want to be able to fit my mountain bike in there.

Here is my original setup from 2006, Amp was foolishly mounted in the passenger footwell, above the ECU. I finally ran some cabling to the boot on the weekend. And now, after browsing car audio equipment for the past 2 days... I wanna change every component except for the rear speakers. But I should really make use of all the stuff I already have.

But since my goal was to have a useable boot, I feel like buying all the small/efficient amps & subs

easy. remove your spare wheel, and fibreglass a custom mould for the wheel well into an enclosure... fit the sub there with suitable bracing above the sub to protect it...

amp mounted to the plank of wood covering the ecu area is fine.

or even make a false floor just deep enough to house the amps in the floor with suitable bracing above to protect them aswelll...

    bike is easy fit then

my amps are huge Soundstream 4ch and a monoblock. one may fit on the "parcel shelf" but i dont know where i'll put the other. Each are about the size of your black amp martin. i havent mounted them yet. i think i'll have to put the mono on the parcel shelf (it gets hot and i've had it cut out on me) and the 4ch under the pass seat.

does your cargo blind flap about with your sub cranked up?

youd be surprised how little room there is under the seats, you would seriously struggle to fit an amp under there, ive never seen it done on a zed.

And i dont use my cargo blind because its broken anyway :p

im thinking of mounting my amps on top of eachother on the parcel tray in sort of a rack arrangement. my stock parcel is falling apary so may as well. then i was to get some sort of custom sub box so i can fit in the targas in the boot as well as the sub. any suggestions anyone?

can anyone give me the dimensions of the parcel shelf?

want to start designing the amp rack now hehe

bugger. coz the amps are thick-ish too. last owner had an amp under there apparently. i'll try to fit it but if there isnt enough space...

my 4ch cant run the sub and the front splits (not enough power) and if i dont amp the speakers the bass will drown it all out.

i guess i might mount it on the sub box.

I dont have my fronts amped, its not too bad really, but granted you dont get the crispness when you crank it up that you would if they were amped

    LOL

They're not the stock speakers, I've got 6" JL splits in there, don't have the tweeters hooked up. And they sound great even just being powered by the head unit. My car came with 4" kenwood splits installed in the front, And I was CBF replacing them. So I bought the JL splits to replace the fronts, but got lazy and whacked 'em in the rear. So my setup was a JL 4 channel amp powering a JL 10" sub, & the kenwood splits at the front + 6" off the deck. And I'm planning to relocated the current amp, & add a 2nd amp (My brother's got some spare amps that I can use; 4 channel Kicker amp, and a pioneer monoblock, which is huge) Kinda why I'm tempted to buy new more powerful & compact components.

This is one thing I want to address In my current setup. The fronts aren't loud enough. I'm thinking of bridging a 4 channel amp just for the fronts. They're just not loud enough when the top is off.
my current mechanic reckons the amp's electromagnetic radiation will interfere with the ECU. And I did have my ecu replaced recently. Also my passengers bitch about it all the time.

I'm gonna mount 1 of the amps in the boot with a false floor.
