hey guys kinda new round here jus got my licence 3 months back and jus got a ZX this week ( been looking for one for ages :zlove: ) anways previous owner strictly told me not to wash the engine bay was wondering wat was the best way to clean it up abit... without getting it wet...???
check out the tech section .. article by k-zed on cleaning the engine bay .... .. and welcome to the forum and zedland ....:zlove: :zlove:
Welcome Ozbek and say goodbye to your wallet Serioulsy you could not have found a better group of people to help you on your new quest. In addition to the article that Baz speaks about, there are several on the US site which I found helpful. Get yourself some toothbrushes and start scrubbing. Also do a Google search on car detailing and some of those sites are very helpful. Tony
Welcome to the Forum Read up the Tech section a lot - there is a massive amount of good info in there. Generally speaking, if you keep you electrical connectors clean and tight, and you cooling system clean and healthy, 99% of your potential problems will go away. It is generally true that a Zed's electrical connectors will not have been touched since the car rolled off the production line (unless it is a Zed Forum car that is ). Being only licensed for 3 months, the Zed is probably more car than you should be driving, so take the time to get the feel for it as well as the feel for the road in general. Nothing improves your driving like getting more and more kms under your belt, so go often and go safely.
Welcome Ozbek . you do know once you start you cant stop , the cleaning of the engine bay often leads to blinging it up , for an example of an extreme case check out hot300zx engine bay . .
Welcome Ozbek,as said above ,be very careful you dont get it too clean, youll never know where it may take you :zlove: :zlove: ( i started with an engine clean lol)
ill be sure not to go too far on the cleaning (i hope lol) plus i want to keep the original look for now on a side note really looking forward on getting involved in events or anything else really
Very wise mate. Best to save money for maintenance or any repairs that may pop up. Lots of time for 'look nice' and 'go fast' bits later down the track. Happy Zedding.
