Don't know how many of you are aware of this, I might well be the last to see it!!! The supp regs are posted on the Qld Z Club site - there is a more detailed entry form which needs to be printed out, and taken with you presumably to be presented at scrutineering - and the preferred time for this is 12-4pm on the Friday, at Morgan Park. They also want a printed front 3/4 pic of the car as it will be raced, so get this done before you leave home. The classes could be interesting ... capacity will be easy, all TTs are >5000cc, NAs 2501-3000cc. The standard/street/club/race part might draw some comments - I've got 3 ticks right now and possibly heading for 5 by the Nats which would put me in race - up against the slot car . I might leave the suspension stock for this one; we are all going to be honest aren't we? http://www.zcarclubq.org.au/events/2009nationals/supreg.pdf Cheers, Mikey.
Thanks RZM, a bit odd that an AM intercooler, upgraded rotors, strut tops, a fuel cut defender and modified/larger intake will get you a start as a race car!
Haven't seen this either Mikey Wont the class for TT be #6 (3litre x 1.7= 5100cc)? I have 5 ticks up and it is definately not a race car 5 sec penalty for dropping a wheel off the bitumen. second bonnet strap is a problem. is it just me or does this event seem to be poorly run with bits added along the way and no correspondence issued
Yep, >5000cc means greater than 5000cc. And its even closer than that if you're running stock bore - 2960cc x 1.7 = 5032cc. Just over! Remember when Holden went from 308c.i. to 304c.i. to get under 5000cc??!!
I saw that too and thought it was odd. I get one tick for my adjustable camber arms which puts me in the street rather than standard class in basically a stock car, I think the standard class might be a little empty. I was going to dial out my negative camber to avoid chewing up my tyres on the drive up too, if the adjustable arms are enough to put me in a different class I might as well use them, anyone know how to set up camber accurately trackside or so I need to find a shop that is open to do it for me in a hurry when we get there?
Thanks for that Mikey, and I have to add no thanks to the organisers. The class structure strikes me as slightly "harsh" forcing what in Victoria would be considered a "Club" car into the race catogory. I can't see too many entries in the standard class.
Peter, Bring a spirit level, a steel rule and a calculator. Camber adjustment is easy. Round up some milk crates, a couple of long straight poles, and a tape measure, and we can also do the toe in.
Quick note guys, these supp regs forms need to arrive with the Queensland Z Car Club before 6:00pm tuesday the 7th of April!
I might have a copy saved on my computer at work, if not I have printed it, I can photocopy it and white out the bits I have filled it and photocopy that for you. Give me a call on my mobile during the day tomorrow if you don't have it sorted out by then.
