Hey everyone, i am starting to purchase a few things for my NA this week the most important will be the 100k service i will be attempting this school holidays.:D but as i plan to take it to the WSID drags soon after i will need to replace the stock clutch because its bound to wimper under the punishment of big launchs.. so i was wondering which clutch to go for.. and more importantly which lightened flywheel to match it to.. i was thinking an exedy HD unit but there seem to be several available so the problem has become choice.. wat do i need the car hopefully wil be makeing 140rwkw this year but the car is still a daily which needs to be able sydneys ever growing traffic but i still would like it to handel some big launches.. when it comes to the flywheel i found a JUN unit from japan for 350 Aus before delivery but it still weighs 6.8kgs.. how much does the stock fly weigh..wat other flys re out there. i have been told not to go to light and i will also have a lightened crank pulley on the front.. so any help to make up my mind is as always appreciated

    cheers James:)

I have a Exedy organic heavy duty single plate ($450 cheap!). Works well without being stupidly heavy. Don't bother with the brass button clutches, not needed in a NA.

Stock flywheel is quite a bit more than 6.8kg's. It really hurts when you drop it on your chest :( You don't want to go too light engine wont hold revs for long during changes, great for the track but not around town.

Fidanza make a Alluminium flywheel, not very cheap about $700 I think. Apparantly very good though. UAS also make there own. Might be time for another GB soon. Anyone else keen?

You'll hit 140kw easy, I made 135rwkw yesterday if you didn't hear  Still on stock extractors, ECU and cams too! Should hit about 160 by the end of the year

Great news Chris glad to hear you hit 135 so easily.. just with the mods in your garage or did you add some to the party.. im all for a GB if one can be aranged with enoiugh interested so it wouldnt take months to commplete... with the UAS ones has anyone had any experience with these.. im sure after making them they would balance them and test them..

Ive got a super light weight TT Chromolly flywheel in my NA, and all is going well with it. All up it was about 500 with the GB. (I am running a TT gearbox, hence TT fly).

agree with chris re clutch. they will taka a flogging, so dont go too heavy duty.. Its always better to bust your clutch than screw your gearbox or snap uni joints etc.

If you are still getting in on that NA extractors GB you should make some nice power gains. Do us NA's proud at the drags ;)
