    hey:)
I have a 1992 n/a (no modifications) and iv wanted to time it from 0-100kph for a while now. So today i timed a couple of 0-100kph and i was getting there in just over 9 seconds, i'm pretty sure i could get there a but quicker with a bit of practice haha:D
I'm not really sure if that's good or not, and was just wanting to know if 9 seconds is an okay time for my Z, or if that's a bit slow?
Any input would be greatly appreciated:D

hey jamersss, you could wind out second gear alot more than what you do in the vid, 2nd will see you over 100kph easily.

nice note too the car though!

    got a slip?

if TT is 6.2 and you are claiming a 6.5

A slip? from what? Don't know any drag strips that print out 0-100 times. Don't really need to prove anything, have a look at this thread (http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=316777 )and take a look at the times exhaust & filter TT's were running......bout 1-2/10th's quicker than my NA. Oh and a well driven TT will be closer to 5.8 seconds or so.

best i have atm is one of my vids run starts at 59sec to the chirp into 3rd at 100kph at 1:05

wa plex has 0-100 times on them last i checked.

    so you are guessing

watching the clip on the 2nd churp i count more 8 seconds in... far cry from 6.2 seconds

that is assuming that the churp is on 100km/h

The runs start from when the car starts moving not from when it goes green, sunshine. I'll happily take a video if thats what it takes. Car starts moving at 59 seconds in and 3rd gear chirp is 1:05. The fact that the car is doing 157kph by the end of the run and the XR8 beside me ends up a car length back should be a fair indicator for now. As i said, tyres have to be fairly warm for them to grip right away. Also no drag strip on the planet has a 0-60mph time, are you sure your not getting it confused with 60' time?

Mine does it in 6.8's roughly!

Did a few runs one cold morning out at Bangholm with car at running temp and about 1/8th of a fuel tank and empty boot without spare and tools and was getting jussst under 7's.

Plus fairly confident SRB-2NV has one of the quickest NA's on here, if not THE quickest.

I've pulled sub 6 seconds in my TT before too.

Factory times for new car, Manual.

    N/A 0-100 - 7.5 Sec
    T/T 0-100 - 5.5 Sec

Both cases you're in second gear at 100 K/PH.

If your car is stock, it'll be a bit slower due to age.
Not stock could be same or faster depending on mods.

There are a few apps you can find for the iphone that measure 0-100 times using GPS, given the accuracy of GPS based speedo apps (a life saver when your instrument cluster is playing up), I'd say they'd be fairly accurate. Go find a nice straight bit of country road at 2 am on a Saturday morning and have a play, best way to work it out. Perfectly legal if you stop at 100.

Not really, the "Hoon" laws cover time trials held on the road that test a vehicles performance. That's why all my stories are "at the drag strip" :p

I believe the NSW anti-hoon laws carry more restrictions than those here in Vic. Though I can't seem to find a copy of ours that isn't pages filled with pages of useless legislation and technical jargon. You now have me wondering... Anyone know of a trite synopsis of each that doesn't come as a 700 page pdf? I was under the impression here that we're sweet as long as we don't break traction, chirping your tires can land you a fine. I believe they just recently started ticketing for "excessive acceleration" in NSW?
