Well, with our first bub due in September, was time to get another car to be our daily driver. First things first - DEFINANTLY keeping the Z! Will sell off my massive U2 collection before I let the beast go!!! Test drove a lot of cars, decided on the Mazda 3. Saw a few online, by the time I rang they were sold. Then I found one at Warwick, went up and had a look - now it's mine! 2005 SP23 version, much nicer then the basic Neo. Has a semi-automatic, which is great as I can flick it over to clutchless manual whenever I want. Only been driven since Jan 2006, under 15 000 km exact colour I wanted for under $25 000 on the road! LOVING only filling up once a week on a 50L tank. Very happy... Love the 2-tone LED dash... Next to the 300ZX...
Nice Kris !!!! I remember you telling me about it Looks like your Z will be more of a pleasure to drive as your weekend Cruiser !! :zlove: :zlove: The colour is damn nice, i was gonna buy a Z in that colour, Electric blue ? Nice work man !!!! Looks awsome
Ta mate. When I look at the Z now, it's like a treat to drive, as I have to resist everyday, knowing that driving the Mazda is actually saving me massive amounts of money on fuel and helping prolong the life of the Z. Take the Z out once every few days, or just on the weekend. Makes it even more special! :zlove: Only problem is stopping myself from instinctively waving when I see another 300ZX on the road! Still keep forum cards in the Mazda's glove box though. Have to admit, it is actually a HUGE relief having another car that is cheaper to run and maintain, plus if the Z has a problem, I'm not stuck trying to borrow another car from my father-in-law (who has always been very generous in lending his car when mine's in the shop!) The dash is sooooo cool - imagine that transplanted into the Z!
Agree, anybody who has a performance or rare car need a spare or preferrably a cheap and reliable daily driver. It can get very expensive keeping the zed on the road on a daily basis. Much better to drive it a bit sparingly and maintain it to perfection rather than desperately trying to keep up and see it slowly deteriorate. I want that dash !
yeah definately, that dash is awesome. Friend of mine recently got this as a present for getting his licence (some of my mates are rich, i wish i was). His is the charcoal colour. Same body shape except his isn't the SP23, it's the base model. But he got a catback exhaust and a pod filter put on and a nice set of rims and the car does look nice and classy and has a nice exhaust note to match. Your's is a nice colour too. like bmw's electric blue.
Thanks folks for the compliments Another one I was looking at was this one, currently still on www.carsales.com.au 'only' a Maxx Sport, older, more km's, but I LOVE the colour and the rims match nicely too:
damn you vbevan!!!! i want my 2.9L of blood back!!!! cool car i cant wait to have my bech buggy to get around in... will save sooo much in fuel!!
Always liked the colours of the new Mazda's , would look great on the zed. Nifty lights to, its a pity no one makes tail lights, dashes etc that look as modern as those as after market parts for the zed. Congrats
Yes, this will enable you to enjoy the Z much more, mostly through a different perception. If you drive a great car everyday, it becomes an average car to you. If you drive an average car everyday, when you get into a great car, it will feel like an even greater car.
Well said - it certainly is a treat driving the Z on the weekend instead of every day. :zlove: Sometimes I can't make it - have to drive it mid-week...
