    Hey all,

First of all id like to introduce myself! The names Chris, and I currently live in Petersham NSW (Inner west of Sydney).

For many years I have had my eye on the 300zx, and a few years back before I got my license, I nearly convinced my dad to buy one!
In the mean time, I have built up a Datsun 1600 with an SR20, been to uni, worked, moved around a bit, and just lived life.

In recent times, I have let my love for the 300 grow, which lead to just yesterday, me purchasing my very first 300zx.

Introducing my 1995 twin turbo 5 speed manual 2 seater silver bullet.
    The car is FAIRLY stock, with only the following known details;

    - 104,000km twin turbo 5 speed
    - 2 seater (full velour interior)
    - heavy duty clutch
    - kakimoto cat back exhaust
    - k&n pod filter
    - twin turbo xs blow off valves
    - alarm/immobilizer
    - turbo timer
    - some massive stereo (blows my head off)
    - nismo 300km/h speedo
    - nismo gearknob
    - ebc blue brake pads
    - slotted/vented rotors
    - 18" wheels w. 235/40 front and 245/40 rears

AAAAAAND thats about as much as I know so far. We will have to see what I come across down the track.

    Its going to stay relatively simple, as I dont have alot of space to work on it. So simple thing are going to start me off in the coming months;
    - Coilovers
    - Front sway bar
    - Strut tower bars (F+R)
    - Adjustable camber arms
    - Electronic boost controller
And as far as wheels go, im going to try to find either Work Meister S1 18" or 19" OR Rays VOLK TE37 18" or 19"
If I cant find anything I like, ill just save the extra coin and buy a new set of Work Emotions of some sort (prob 11R).

SO thats as it sits, how its going to sit soon enough, and now is about time for some pictures.
Will be hopefully be heading down to Wollongong/Kiama on the weekend, so will get some better pics then!
    ENJOY.

tbh your first mod upgrade should be a full 100k service. never take anything for granted unless you got receipts that its been done. Once you have done that then go for it.

    ^
also make sure the plenum bypass has been done ... if not ...do it when you do your 100k service.

Looks like a very tidy example, nice buy. How much did you pay for it (if you don't mind me asking)? Just interested in the value of these cars these days (PM me if you'd prefer).

    Hi Chris
    Welcome to the crowd.
Good luck with getting that smile off your face. :)
A Zed will do that to ya.
Nice clean looking car. Did you get it from a forum member?
Hicas delete has been done I see, maybe the other delets have been attended to as well.(water bypass, EGR).

I'd do a 120k service mate, that steering wheel has signs of > 100,000km. do you have any bolster wear?

Thanks for all the kind words guys! Afterall, you guys ARE the inspiration!

Its all now fully insured and registered ready for its debut trip down the coast!
It was purchased off an old member who still gets around on the forum a little bit, so I know this car has a little bit of history.
He told me the 100,000km service was done on it already, however I didnt get any receipts or anything like that, so is there actually any way to tell if it has been done or not??
I have just emailed BD4s as that is who I was told has done work on the car, to see if I can get any further information/proof, just so I know what to do, or what doesnt need to be done.
Not sure about the plenum bypass, ill have to have a closer look.
Also, the HICAS is still very much there and active, as the 1995 model HICAS is electric! So no mess in the engine bay.

Ill have more of a poke around in the coming days... see what is there and what isnt anymore. My first tick on the list was rego/insurance!
Next will be sussing out the major service, what needs to be done, how and when.
Cant wait to drive this thing throught the national park!

Take it to UAS or any reputable zed mech in NSW. Also I wouldn't take word of mouth at all. Check to see if there is any stickers/stamps saying when the belt etc. was changed in the engine bay.

Cheers frysie. Will probably take it to UAS in a couple of weeks for them to have a bit of a look over!

"National Park" - watch out for roos.

We are your inspiration? thats a scary thought.

94+ apparently had electric hicas (iirc Super HICAS ?)

Yep '94 onwards had the "super HICAS". Not sure what the difference is... still learning all about the Z.
The National Park will be early/mid morning so hopefully less chance of a roo, but I will definitely be on the look out cheers!
I think as time goes on.. im falling more and more in love with this car haha. I dont even want to change a thing just yet... just tidy it up around the edges... service it so its all squeaky clean and up to scratch!
Brakes are the only thing ive got to get used to really... theyre good... but require ALOT more pedal pressure than anything else ive ever driven! Even some big track spec pedals with no booster!

Perhaps change your brake lines to braided, it might help with your spongy pedals. When you do this you have to bleed your system, which also might be the cause of your spongy pedal (air in the lines).

Not much of an update really.. Just trying to get the front end repaired but can't find a donor headlight bucket!
Anyways.. Just doing a few little things to tidy the car up. Reprinting bits and pieces.. Re-doing vac lines etc.
Just thought I would show you what I've done so far.

    Before:

    After:

Just re routing all of the vac hoses whilst replacing them.. Tidying wiring.. And removing all bits of junk that I felt was unnecessary. No "deletes" as of yet. That is until I can figure out what all the little solenoid and sensors are in the back drivers side corner of the engine bay are.
    Cheers!
