You only need a normal road car or race car to attend the training. Your entry also includes the test and tune in the afternoon, the only extra requirement for the test and tune is a fire extinguisher in the car, which can be mounted in the boot. Clothing is just long non flammable clothes (jeans and a flanny) and a helmet. Licensing is Cams L2s which will be available on the day if you dont already have one for $30.00 The day is an easy introduction to Mt Cotton Hillclimb with an experienced driver in the passenger seat next to you to give advice and tips during the morning.
This sounds awsome, why has no one posted or entered(except for Chrispy)? I'd do it but don't have the money or a helmet and don't want to prang the car while it's for sale. I imagine you would not be covered by your standard insurance for this event.
generally no vehicle insurance for these kinds of events, I think Shannons do a special policy but you would have to phone them to check it out. This is a very low risk day, with hillclimbs there is only ever one person to blame if you crash anyway Drivers personal insurance is covered by CAMS for this event.
What are the noise limits on the cars? We have had issues with our exhausts been to loud at other events at Mt Cotton?
This is nothing to do with the driver training center, Its the Hillclimb next door. The noise requirements is the same as for all CAMS racing circuits which is 95dba at 30 meters. This is pretty loud. Lakeside is only 95dba at 5.0 meters as a comparison. I would be very surprised if any road car had noise issues at Mt Cotton Hillclimb !
