Almost all second gear for me, though towards the end of some of the quicker bit (the open curves at the start and the 'back straight' near the end) I was starting to think about third, I just didn't have the time to change up, accelerate in third gear then change down before I hit the corners. Maybe once I get better at track driving (coming out of the corners a little faster and changing gears faster and more smoothly) I will be able to get a bit more speed on the quicker sections by getting into third but on the day between having less acceleration than the WYKKED mobile and not being as experienced a driver I was in second almost all the way.

Not sure what top speed I got, how fast is a manual NA going in second gear at about 7200rpm? There was not much time for looking at the speedo.

 

There was plenty of down hill bits, some of them very down hill very suddenly.

You start at the top of the hill, go down to the bottom and back up to the top again to finish.

 

I could be tempted, though I am really keen to get onto Winton too so we will see.

Sorry about the sound quality. I'll have a play with the camera mic and see if I can improve it before the next event.

 

Nice job with the incar mounting Pete! Shame about the sound, but the pictures look very nice! I was wondering with all these videos going around if we could make a Aus300zx DVD (or set), or maybe just get some clips up to show at the NDSOC meetings...

In the interest of fairness before I went on this run Emma pointed out to me that Pete was braking earlier than me into corners so on her advice I gave it a go and gained another 0.75s

 

I should be able to drop mine onto a CD or DVD and give a copy to the NDSOC guys.

Looking at it again Pete really had that slip on the last corner pretty well under control quite quickly, looked pretty alarming at the time though.

 

Nice videos Mikey, good to see more and more videos popping up! Cant wait to see some of these in full quality rather than compressed for the net

 

At this point I am using the video function in my Fuji compact camera. It has limitations, can't zoom in/out while filming, limited length, 640 format, but it's great for this purpose. And quality direct to PC or laptop is much better - a 27 second bite is about a 30mb file.

I'm looking at getting something better in the next year or so. Getting the Z mobile first is more important!
