I have the TT diff, and in that corner 2nd just over-clocks. You want to be on the power earlier, even feeding the power in 2nd, you can't get to full throttle before your out of rpm.

My laptimes using 2nd gear in those 2 corners were almost 2 seconds slower (consistently) than when I used 3rd.

Change the turbos. I don't know what your specs are but one size down on the back housings would be worth a go, seeing that disco spuds are really a two liter turbo if reasonable driveability is required. Turbo engines are all about the turbo and it's related parts, everything else is secondary. Having said that a set of Tomei Poncams may be worth a try, they are basically an improved stock cam and have a good reputation in other engines where a good power spread is required.

That's a nice dyno curve, as you say it just needs moving to the left a bit. Turbos first, then.....

Would be the only track i would put my TT diff back in for.
Have often said the 4-11 leader diff gears were one of the best mods i have done.
so we will have to disagree there Techy.

Standard manual ZX TT inlet cams have a slower ramp speed which is the best way to have a good usable low RPM torque curve.

The important parts from the link above:

Dark blue line is Sport700 car (RS) with MS Manifolds, JWT dual pops, full 2.5" exhaust, 500 cams with port work and oversize valves, Stillen intercoolers, 740cc Injectors.

Pink line that has been added is a 700 turbo car with MS manifolds, 500 cams with larger ports and oversize valves, full 3 inch exhaust, Ash Massive Intercoolers and 2.5" intercooler pipes, Z1 Throttle bodies, JWT dual pop, 740cc injectors.

Looks like about 330-340whp at 4k rpm so 250rwkw so probably less than that due it being a US dyno but i doubt it is reading 20% high.

    Torque:

Pink vs dark blue. Massive difference
    --------------------------
A better look at just the difference dual intake makes
    [IMG]

Lowest blue line (makes 288.29 at the measured point) vs the gold line 330.27. Same car in both, gold line just added selin dual pop set up. You can see the difference it made to the earlier power band.

    Torque (gold vs blue)

Just remembered there are more graphs further down the page
    http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2415532/Chart-with-600-vs-700-With-amp-without-larger-pipes.html

Graph in red with the most lag is 700 with 2.5" full exhaust and stillen intercoolers
Graph in maroon that looks the best is 700 with 3 inch exhaust and 2.5" intercoolers and pipes, Z1 throttle body

Graph in green is 600 with 2.5" exhaust and stillen intercoolers
Graph in blue is 600 with 2.5" intercoolers and pipes, Z1 throttle body

I've seen some great suggestions here, but if you really need more torque, just put your wife or someone else's in the passenger seat, then you will have way more torque. If fact, you'd have torque under water, and possibly even under wet cement .

Oh yes, I think there are a few of us here that are old enough to remember the Beatles tour of 1964. I was a trainee fighter pilot in those days; now I am a trainee Zed mechanic.

    Really? When? Driving what?

You should have come down for the revival earlier in the year, lots of original drivers and cars as well as one of the best ranges of modern cars I've ever seen on one place.

Also, before you get too comfortable at the top of the age pile I'd wait to see what Martin Williams has to say, I seem to remember him coming in and putting everyone in their place last time teh topic came up...
