I have tested my Z with the MiNes ECU that it came with and a stock ECU on a dyno - The power and torque curves are identicle. Has anyone else done an ECU comparasin? I would be intertested in comparing the dyno curves.

MiNes ECU designed for 100 octane fuel

MiNes ECU designed for 100 octane fuel available in Japan and not the lowly 95-98 available in Australia.

    dosnt surpise me.

most tunes are set up for higher boost levels, around 15psi, im asuming that whats its set up for, at high boost levels the stock maps realy can't be advaced much and in some cases tunes such as JWT retarded quiet heavly. thers no point checking a tuned rom against a stock rom at stock boost levels. unless the rom has been tuned for use at that level of boost.madmacka

If you look at BigD's profile ....>>

you'll notice his is an NA. Very difficult to wind up the boost.I would have hoped that there'd be some difference in performance between the two ECU's unless the Det sensor or temp sensor is faulty?

Time to find another ECU then . . . .

and put the MiNes in the bin.}D }D }D

    What power did you make:?)

Are you sure you weren't in a saftey map:?)Try an ECU diagnostic and make sure you get a code 55.

    Peak Figures

Made a corrected 242 HP at the flywheel and 520 Nm Torque in third gear and 395 Nm in fourth to get the 1:1 ratio of the gearbox. I have not heard of a safety mode in the NA ECU.

    I have found....

That on the tt turning up boost with the mines just seems to cause pinging at higher revs.. as soon as i get it over about 11 psi it will ping at 4500 and above, while the stock ecu runs fine. On stock boost the mines feels like it has more power, no dynos to prove this though so may be just a placebo effect, also the mines has a pretty good af ratio on stock boost but really leans out when turned up a bit, I have only done dynos with the mines in though so again this may be due to something else entirely.

NAs still got into safety mode.....>>

The ECU just alters the fuel and timing maps (like the TT) but of course can't do anything with boost.

    With your mods...>>

it's a bit higher than I would expect for safety mode. Did you get air/fuel ratios?I would still recommend an ECU diagnostic or have someone run conZult on it.

    I have a mines ecu

It made a crazy difference to me when I had it installed compared to my original self tuned one. But the self tuned ecu even though it had the rev and speed limiter removed was probably lower than stock even though i could boost up to 20psi with no detonation. The mines ecu I have right now is the #1 ecu and boosts easily to 1 bar with no detonation.
