OK guys the old metalcats thread has gone nowhere so I'm going to jump in and get this sorted out for everybody. Most people here are familiar with the product and I know there are heeeeaps of satisfied customers from the previous group buy but here's the lowdown just in case.

    • Stainless steel construction inside and out
    • Hi-flow 200CSI design
    • Available in 2.5", 3", and 3.5" in/out
    • Road legal and emissions compliant
    • ch tested and proven to outflow the competition

Here's a link to the metalcat website which contains alot of useful info about the product http://www.metalcat.com.au/

Pricing: The Group Buy pricing is a little more expensive than last round but still exceptionally good compared to the $400rrp price tag. Group Buy pricing is $300/cat delivered, and may come down with enough purchases.

Timeframe: Stock availability is always up and down with these as they are coming direct from the Aussie distributor. If stock is available (all sizes in stock at the time of this post) then we can get it out within 2 weeks of the GB closing, if not it could be up to a 6 week wait. Cutoff date for orders is the end of this month ie 30/9/07.

How to order: To place your order, please send me a PM with your sizing. Payment will be required in full to confirm your order.

I think that covers everything although please feel free to add any questions below.

Better off staying the same size as the exhaust if you can. 3.5" will allow the gasses to open up and the expansion will cool them then they will heat up again as they are forced to compress back down after the end of the cat. This will slow down the gasses.

Actually the dump pipe is 3.5" so it won't be a problem. Then splitting into twin 3"

These are THE cats to get

Every exhaust place I've taken them to in getting quotes for installing a new system has commented on the quality of the parts.

I will get on this one..

Im definately in on this one... 2 X 2.5 Inch... not paying to the last minute... my wallet has been spanked so im trying to let it recover as much as possible...

Now getting some dumps/test pipes from the GB running at the momment are issues you can see using these cats with those test pipes? just need the flanged part attached to the cats in order to connect them?

    Regards,

    Raheen

No problems at all I used to have tuneagent style dump and front pipes running to 2.5" metalcats. I had mine flanged where the front pipe meets the cats and then the cats were welded to some pipe running to a UAS resonator -your exhaust shop can take care of flanging/welding etc when they do the install.

I took a quick look under the car and broke out the ruler and it appears that these would be the 10 inch body cats (if you measure from end to end). The actual bulge (where I'm guessing the metal core is) is about 4 inches long...

Edited Mr G's pics... hope that's alright.

I bought these from rob too and as Mr G said, they're the shiznit when it comes to metal core cats... Most exhaust places i went to wanted to charge about $450+ for one cat so you're getting a good deal here.

And for anyone worrying about using the old temp sensor probe, you can reuse it with these cats. Just get your exhaust shop to cut out the bung from the old cats and drill into the new cat just after the bugled bit (don't drill into the metal core) and they can weld the old temp sensor probe bung back in.

    Looks like this

    Nice info there....

I didn't reuse the temp probes as they had been cut since I bought the car. I think if they were still intact I would have done the same thing as you have.
