Master Cylinder Differences

I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a difference between the LHD & RHD clutch master cylinders?

The part number i was able to find for a RHD clutch master cylinder is 30610-50P55. The one listed on Coz has a different part number, Nissan OEM 300ZX Clutch Master Cylinder (Non-Turbo) Part #: 30610-48P54

I know the brake master cylinders are different between LHD & RHD, but im having a hard time finding a non abs version as my zed does not have abs. Nissan was able to provide me with the part number 46010-40P10. Anybody able to confirm if that is the correct part number?

Is there any difference in the actual master cylinders compared to the later model versions? Ive seen Adam's 2k replica zed with the later model brake master cylinder so im assuming it is a direct replacement to the older versions, but im wondering if it was a non abs version? Anybody have the part number for a late model rhd non abs brake master cylinder?

Before anybody asks, the reason why i want to replace rather than rebuild is because i would prefer to have it all brand new & not have to worry about it.

Any help would be much appreacited. Thanks in advance.

Wait, do you want clutch or brake master cylinder? Or both?
Brake masters are different LHD/RHD, they are mirrored (the BM57 ones are anyway)
With non ABS you want a BM44 master cylinder that has 4 ports, probably hard to find.

There are a bunch of different clutch masters but should work easily if you get a one-piece line from UAS or made at ENZED etc. (don't order and American one). Clutch masters are different NA/TT and you need one that suits your pedal

Thanks for that. I am after both clutch & brake master cylinders.

I already have a custom made one piece braided clutch line that i got made up a while back. My zed is NA so i will need to get the NA type, now i just need to figure out the right part number & if there is any difference between the LHD & RHD.

BM44 is the one currently in the zed & it does have 4 ports, however finding a brand new one is hard as I'm yet to find anything that confirms that the part number i have is the right one. I believe the late model zeds had BM50 but i cant seem to find much info on them being abs or non-abs, hence why if it is a direct replacement, i might as well get a later model bmc if its non-abs

Kudos have the JDM NA clutch master, only difference I can see to the American is that it has the port on the bottom not the side. http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/cat...r-cylinder-nissan-300zx-z32-vg30de-p-368.html

Good luck with the brakes, info on those is pretty sparse here, I would be reconsidering getting them rebuilt. A good rebuild is as good as new anyway. As far as I know all late model Zs had ABS but I could be wrong. Hopefully someone with FAST will be able to help on that one.

If you provide me with your JDM VIN I will list suitable part numbers.

Thanks once again. Ill see if Coz can get me the RHD version.

Thanks for that. Ill have to message my mechanic & ask him to msg me the VIN as the zed is currently at the workshop, so i wont be able to get it until tommorow. Your the man when it comes to part numbers, are you able to tell me if any of the late model manual zeds came non-abs? If so, would you be able to tell me the part number for the bmc?

You had the right part number for JDM/ADM clutch master 30610-50P55. it suits JDM/ADM NA's 03/91 to 10/99.

Abs your car is 06/91. (Sorry the JDM VIN was one of the few that don't list, send me the long alpha numeric model number and I will do a screen print for you.)

And as you have found out the line ports are are in different positions RHD to LHD.

Looking at brake master for NA manual, there are 3 main part numbers, 2 are listed as anti-skid 17/16", and one 15/16" Nabco brand, I assume its non-abs as it would need to move slightly less fluid hence the slightly smaller 15/16" cylinder.

46010-40P10 suits JDM/ADM non ABS NA manual from 07/89-10/98, it has a 15/16" cylinder.

After 10/98 ABS was standard on all cars.

Thanks a lot for the very helpful & informative post. I really appreacite it.

I tried to see if Coz could source the master cylinders for me, but he is unable to get either of them. Ive managed to find the clutch master cylinder on kudosmotorsports, but no luck so far with the brake master cylinder

No worries at all I enjoy helping out where I can, but when I get a job you will be stuffed. :p

Coz can not usually help with RHD specific parts as he has to go to Japan like us pretty much.

Check with Nissan Australia, occasionally you will get a surprise, it pays to have the part number when you call, but more often then not it will be about 3 to 4 times the USA/LHD equivalent part price.

Jesse Streeter is fairly economical especially on stuff that is post friendly.

Kudos is a good guy, can't remember his name right now, but easy to deal with, would be interesting to see what his prices are like compared to someone like Streeter for RHD specific stuff.

Coz was able to get me everything RHD specific ive needed in the past, including my brand new rhd wiper arms that i got from my last order. This is the first time he has been unable to source something for me.

The above is the link to the clutch master cylinder that the part number you provided is listed as. I have emailed them to see if they can source the brake master cylinder for me aswell, but havnt got s reply yet.

If they cant source it, then i may see if Streeter or Import Monster can get them for me as i did call the local nissan parts store & they wanted over $500 for it with a 6 week wait, so i shall see if i can find a better option, if not i shall get it from Nissan.

Thanks again for all your help. Appreacite it.

OK I didn't know that, I thought Coz didn't do RHD stuff.
