Manual Differences?

I've had a look around in articles/tech and couldn't find much about this... SO! I thought I'd ask all you guru types out there.. (in a very Z mood after wiping the floor with a F6 typhoon on the way home)

I've heard a lot of rumours/bits and pieces about what the differences are between manual and auto Z's... What I've heard is:

    Different Turbos (slightly)
    Different Cams
    Different Engine management
    etc...

Is there an official list anywhere? Any differences between NA manual and NA auto?

Is my 5 speed really any quicker than an auto?

Why do poor people smell like sour milk?

    Cheers,
    Michael

    some answers...

not sure for TT although I believe that the auto TT's have a slightly different CAM profile and perhaps smaller turbo's?

No diference between NA auto and manual in regards to engine (same CAMS, same power output). Although my investigations many months ago showed that the auto and manual ecu timing maps were different in the NA's (not sure about TT's). The auto's seemed to have 2-3 degree's more timing in the closed loop / light throttle areas between 2500-3000rpm...

Which one is quicker?? well people say the manual is meant to be quicker because you can rev out the gears more, but for an average joe like me, I find the auto to be a killer for drag racing... but I love my manual for curvy roads..

    Cheers

    Parts interchangable?

So if some bits died on my TT 5 speed, (apart from gearbox obviously!) what would be interchangeable with the Auto? Would be nothing worse than spending a couple of thousand on a set of turbos and not have them fit!
