Nearly finished a manual conversion on my 300zx, was hoping i could simply use the bellhousing bolts from the auto tranny but apparently not, the bolts are different lengths. Can i use the bellhousing bolts from a TT manual on my manual NA tranny? What the best way to get my hands on these bolts? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
In recent days i have been thinking of using the Auto bolts myself, but you've found they will not work. NA Manual bolts are the same as TT Manual bolts i think. Only difference is the starter motor interchangeability requires a shim plate. You can purchase the bolts new from Coz.
yeah nearly there now, just need these bolts then i can just bolt everything back together. hopefully everything runs smoothly!
If I recall correctly you can reuse 2 of the auto box bolts when bolting up the manual trans. And because my Internet is being uncooperative, I can't link you the page in the service manual where it tells you exactly what size bolts and for where, you need. Google "300zx online manual" and select the one from twinturbo.net. In the manual transmission section about 1/3 the way through if I recall, there will be the info you seek. If my shit starts working again ill link it to you. If you don't have any luck. Cheers.
Bolts from Group 1 as in diagram above are... I have the other bolts about but not at hand. The bolts from Group 1 should enable you to secure everything for mating/mocking up.
