So to cut a long story short.
my partner has had a car crash..so the silvia is now not here....:( truck had attempted a Uturn on a country road, hit the grass and become bogged with the rain the southern tablelands has been having... 4wd has parked and put its hazard lights on, just after a right angle bend which is blind, advising 60 in a 100 zone.

My partner has came around the corner and ended up rear ending the parked 4wd and the car is now more or less a write off... (i drove out there and saw the corner and it completely blind until you get around it and the brake/lock up marks are just after the apex on the curve.)

So unless anyone knows of a S13 rolling shell that i can just transplant the good bits into etc.

my plans are to go to the wreck and salvage the parts i can and hopefully the engine internals are not damaged so i can repair and use /sell the engine and turbo etc.

So keep a eye out as i may have nice long list of bits up for sale soon ranging from brakes, disks, engine, turbo, rims , coilovers, body kit parts, lights, interior trim.

on a personal note.. as annoyed and saddened i am about the car and the financial loss... .

after seeing the damage i am so glad that my girlfriend is ok .. we only left the hospital a hour or so ago... a car.. as special as it is... can be replaced... a life or a loved one... can not ...

so maybe.. just a message to everyone, take it easy coming up to Christmas.. accidents can happen to anyone.. and they do not have to be entirely your fault... id hate to hear anything happen to anyone from this forum...

    Regards,

    ProckyZ

Unfortunate to hear about the car, Procky. Sounded like a fairly good unit too...

Good to hear that the mrs is alright and that knowone was seriously hurt.

Glad to hear " she who must be obeyed " is okay and no serious injuries. Yes a car can be replaced, but a life cannot. Good luck with rebuilding the car, i'm sure there are plenty of Silvia shells floating around out there, there pretty well a dime a dozen in Sydney and i'm sure some of the Jap wreckers will have some in good nick.

I seen a s15 parked through a tree on the Horsley drive at Smithfield the other morning  I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday

Pretty sure every one was ok, but the car looked totally hammered.

I am still confused though, because its strait road.

As others have already mentioned, the main thing is that your lady is unharmed.
It may be worth investigating whether it's possible to claim against the insurance of either(or both)of the other two drivers for "Contributing Negligence, resulting in an accident".
It may be a long shot, but it could pay dividends.

    well after seeing the car..

HOLY SHIT.. i may post up a picture later...

BUT .. initial inspection.. has givin me a idea.

    1 Purchase a S13 rolling sheel cheap
2 pull engine and anything useful off old S13
3 Transplant all old and (new) bits into new car (except engine)
4 Test engine to make sure internals and compression are all A-OK etc.
5 damaged parts (radiator, intercooler etc) get upgraded units.
6 Sand back shell to bare metal for respray
    7 (MAYBE) rebuild engine.
    8 Put engine in car...

IN other words... a nice rebuild to occupy myself :D

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

get an s13 varietta, they look AMAZING

also, just buy an NA s13 for your girl to drive 'til you move, rebuild the turbo while it's out then transplant then? then there's no dealing with the low compression etc
