    Hey guys,

Havign a bit of a hassle at the moment. My 300 died on me a short time ago and wouldnt fire, took it to a bloke in cooma and he worked it out to be the PTU had failed and i thought that was the end of it but during that time the compression had disappeared as well. He thought that the hydrolis lifters had bled out due to sitting there and having many people trying to turn it over. He gave it a tow and low and behold it started, huzzah! He has then rung me back and told me that the compression has gone again when you leave the car to sit for more then 30min after running it. It seems that when it runs, it runs great, but turn it off and leave it, compression goes away slowly. Also it was noticed that the oil pressure was much much less then what it should be, could it be that the oil pump has died and can that cause this issue?

    Anything would help.
    Thanks,
    Matt

get a cold compression test done which will be a more realistic indicator of what condition your motor is in.

check for a ding in the sump if your oil pressure is low. can also be a faulty oil pressure sender.
