Got home early Friday with intensions to head over to the motorplex for the Fast Friday drags, Hoped in the Zed to head over to the strip pulled out of the drive way and the motor started to run rough so backed up to check things out, first up I checked all connectors to ensure they were on correctly all looked ok, restarted the motor and still missing, so pulled the coil pack plugs off each cylinder to check which ones not firing revs dropped off as I removed each one, except No 2 cylinder made no change, I then removed the coil pack and spark plug, the plug looked ok
[new spark plugs 500k's ago] so while it was out I swap it with No1 plug as I know this one was firing ok, put it all together and restarted the motor still not firing, by this time it was to late to get to the drags so the next best option was a beer or two.
Saturday morning had another look at the problem, this time with the motor running I removed No 2 oil pack connector and tested the plug with a test light for power, had power so the wiring was fine, I also checked a known good cylinder to compare it to, with the same result. So the next thing to check was fuel I then removed the Injector plugs one at a time revs dropped off on each cylinder except on No2, so out with the test light again and check for power all had power even No2, when I put the connector back on I then noticed one of the wires was loose in the connector it had backed out enough not to connect to the injector, when I was using the test light I was holding the wires so the pin on the test light was touching the wire socket, when I pushed the connector onto the injector the wire would back out enough not connect, I refitted the wire into the connector and now all fine firing on all 6 cylinders.
Sorry for the long story, hope this helps anyone out their with misfiring issues.
