Nah, honestly, should be a good day, providing we have a launch date.

Just a heads up peoples, i have spray guns and prep gear should any paint work need touching up...only require a good sized compressor. Im thinking i may remove the AIV's, not that they are making noise, but i do have a gurgling sound up the top of the engine(or dash) so it will be a good starting point to my mystery sound.

Keep me posted of When/Where/Who.

Aztec red, i have a small tin of that left from odd bits i did to the previous Z we had. Its acrylic though, so meh...

Best thing to do is to get it mixed up at SA Paint Supplies. Good place, good quality paints. Just make sure they are definite as to the colour your asking, Aztec Red is a common name for them.

Its a fairly easy colour to spray as there is no metallics, either just apply a few thick coats of red, and cut and polish that, or, apply clear over it and cut/polish that.

When i was doing it, i just had a few coats of red and that was it. Mesh's better with the body colour.

Food for thought.

go auto paint shop, give them color code, they will give you the paint.
dont go autobarn, they are shit.

chris, 2.5hp compressor good enough? i have only used it, cant compare with other compressor.

btw, place is still an issue now

sa paint supplies, good guys, should check out the vehicles they've painted....tight, very tight.

lovic, whats the bottle capacity of the compressor, 2.5hp is fine, providing there is a large bottle. eg, 100L, 200L etc.

i think tom has a big driveway? tom, your old man wont mind a heap of pulled apart zeds on his lawn and driveway. maybe push the 300c onto the road and use the carport?

if i could i'd use my works workshop, car hoist, paint bay, wash bay, abundance of tooling... kick ass sized compressor. lunch rooms, local pub for lunch.... too bad its up in roseworthy.

 

Hey, that sounds a great location. Would be worth a drive for those facilities. It might be a bit far for the deep south boys but Roseworthy's not too far from Adelaide, it's probably what? an hour? Nice little drive.
Is it available on Saturdays?

 

my compressor only has 40L, so we spray it panel by panel, the hardest part is the bonnet, really hard to get good result!

i dont mind to have a 1-2hours drive, will be fun

pffft! Roseworthy?! I used to live in Jamestown.
Now THAT is a few K's away!
Makes me laugh when ppl bawk at travelling more than 5Km to do something.
Especially when it takes a 160Km round-trip to visit Woolworths!

heh im not complaining about how far i live, but i know for a fact when you talk to a Adelaide city person, you mention you're from gawler, work in roseworthy, they all consider you country. and they hate driving out here. lol. so thats all im saying, our company workshop can cater for a shit load of zeds, haha but noone would come this far... hey tom! you on the other side of town.

 

Im not complaing either i like a good drive. I drive out to port pirie evry now and agin. We'll c how many south guys come out this far, only time will tell.

 

Google maps says 1 hour 50 minutes for the whole trip there........
so umm... maybe?

as for using my companys workshop, i really highly doubt they'd let me and 15 zeds use it... getting pretty tight with OH&S these days, plus that and were starting to fill up with tractors...too much green for you all...ahah...
