just undo the nuts holding the shocks in place and install the strut bar over the top, then re-install the nuts.

are you serious.. do you know what a strut brace is..

for you 2 install a strut brace the correct procedure IS:.

jack up car--> take of wheels-->remove front bar--> remove air filter--> remove coil packs--> remove plenum-->install strut brace--> drive car

You forgot remove engine after the plenum

I rerouted the fuel lines through the holes in the brace mount.

    LOL
It is a dead easy job, REALLY :)
As said above, undo the nuts on the top of your suspension towers, insert strut brace over the threads, replace the nuts on the suspension tower, then there is an adjustment on the strut brace too, put a weight of some kind on the brace to hold it as close to the engine as possible I usually get Tammy to sit on the brace {no comments please :D)}], and then I tighten the adjusting bolts on either side of the brace.
As Stef mentioned, you may want to re-rout the fuel lines through the brackets, but that may depend on the type/model of strut brace you end up with.

If you need to ask maybe you shouldn't be touching anything under the bonnet of the Z. Installing a strut brace is the automotive equivelant of puttin on pants in the morning...

It's not quite as difficult as removing the fuel cap, or unlocking the doors(and a tad harder than installing the ignition key).:zlove::zlove:

why are you guys being such assholes? this forum is here to help people not burn them. some people are wary about removing suspension nuts without being totally sure and so they should be. on some cars the top shockie nut holds everything together so if you undo that while the car is jacked up then the spring will fly out.

Answer the mans question dont just attack him.

    A: I don't see me attacking anyone,
B: I fail to see why you would jack the car up, to fit a front strut brace,
C: Don't you have a Bible Class or Prayer Meeting to attend?:p:p:biggrin::biggrin::zlove::zlove:

    Straight answer

Don?t jack the car up. Open the hood, remove 4 nuts holding the shocks on, two each side, install left and right mounting brackets over shocker top bolts, replace the shocker nuts, torque to 31-42ftlb. Fit cross brace to mounts, tighten brace bolts 1 per side, about 40ftlb.

I believe the question has been adequately answered by a few members, and some other have had some stress relief.
More answers are not required and would seemingly cause more harm than good.
RBPs have been received about some replies. Thread closed.

I hope that some of the other replies to this innocent enough question haven't deterred newbies asking questions.

After all, that's what this particular section of the forum is about
