Hey guys i'm new to the forum besides browsing your many many posts and viewing whats on sale, but i thought it was time to make myself known seeing as i have been a Z32 owner for quite awhile :zlove:

My story all started back when i was 12 and my older brother rolled his Nissan Pintara on a country road, which led him to buying a black 2+2 NA Auto Fresh Import Z32. For 2 years my brother paid me to clean the Z32 inside and out, which i never complained about :p until he had to get some money quickly for a house loan. Afew weeks went by with my brother stressing about who he would sell it to until it was finally decided to ask me... a 14 year old kid who just started working at Woolworths... Ofcourse hands down i accepted to buy the car which made me 10k in debt with my parents which i paid off weekly.

The state the car was in when it was passed over to me:

Having owned the car for 2 years prior to even getting my L's and pretty much all my money going into just paying it off nothing happened to it, my parents used it as a car to get them to and from work.

But when i hit 17 i had abit of funding i could play with, so along came the stock front bumper, along with a new set of rims and tyres and a brazilian due to the wing bubbling :) (since then there is a new foglight, just wasnt in for the photo)

By the time i was 19 i had changed the legs of this zed with HSD coilovers and every adjustable arm on the market ;) and an updated 2 din touch screen headunit (which just wired into the stereo system my brother previously paid for to be installed years before, costing him $4000.00 roughly)

Which places me where i am now currently 19 years of age still turning 20, getting my opens in 4 months. The black beauty is for sale if you haven't already seen her and i have a new baby sleeping in the garage.

    Let me introduce my project

After finding my true passion for cars i built up the courage to ask Gavin Wood if he would take on a apprentice, 1 week later hey presto! You could not believe how happy i was and how happy i still am to work with such a guy, genuine top bloke and the smartest guy i know mechanically... And hey who wouldnt love working on Nissans all day ;)

I guess i lost track, haha yes so now you have met the second love of my life, my 90' 2 seater TT manual Targa Z32. Picked her up for just $4,500 with 140k on the clock :) i was stocked!

    Bad sides:
front windshield has little crack = new windscreen :(
    tiny rust spot above windscreen
    2 sunburnt panels
    little to no clutch left
    smelt like rat poo poo
    interior has been upholstered red
    red sqaure steering wheel

    Good sides:
    New Tyres
    Uber cheap
    Low k's
    Still majority stock
TT 2 seater manual, what else would you want? haha :zlove:

I decided to make this thread as i am going to build the car for my girlfriend, as much as you guys will hate to hear this but it is in 2 years time going to her so i can 'upgrade' to my fathers r33 GTR.
I know i know blasphemy! Heck atleast its still in the family right?

This means this build will be more about getting the car running 100%, maybe a little performance, not too much after all i dont want my missus wrapping herself and my love around a pole... But mostly mods such as unwogging it, sound deadening, tinting, interior light swap out, reupholstering, respray/damage repair and suspension upgrades etc :)

Hope you guys enjoy reading my story as much as i will have telling you, ill try to update atleast once a week whether something physical is done to the car, or just plain old ideas to get feedback from you guys :D It will just get hard getting all the funding to start the rebuild without Black beauty being sold.

So hit subscribe, hold in there with me, its gunna be a heck of a show ;)!

Well i hope you enjoy the rebuild of your new baby, and that your lovely lady gets bitten by the Zed bug and enjoys the passion of owning and dying broke from owning Zeds  :D :p

Haha yes not a day goes by when Gav tries to convert me to Skyline :p But they are a nice car, and lets face it nothing beats awd, which is why ill be working the hell outta that baby when i get her ;)

But the Skylines have nothing on the Z's feel and beauty for sure! :zlove:

Thankyou! :) Trust me my missus got bit hard when she first started dating me 3 years ago haha she refuses to have any other car in the future besides a z, which scares me cause we all know how tail happy they can be haha but that aint stopping her, so id rather build a 'safer' more luxury Z for her to enjoy :)
Hahaha and yes i know both our pockets will regret this decision at a later date ;)

Nothing beats AWD on the track maybe.

But on the street feel is more important. ;)

In a green light GP, there is nothing between them in weight, on similar build/money etc the 3.0L V6 will get the job done, and with a good auto the GTR will not stand a chance, only caveat is the Z32 will need some decent rubber on the rear, only fair up against a AWD.

    Tell GW that. :br:

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Saw that black thing on eBay! Why don't you swap over the good suspension bits to the TT?

Haha theres no reasoning with GW ;)

Yeah mate was on ebay but got no hits so she came off, im going for a different setup with the TT because its going to be my missus's, if it were staying mine id keep the gear. Haha black 'thing' dont like her i take it?

    Present!

Hey guys i have something that is going to cure a small part of the z's interior :p
I looked for while for a stock steering wheel on the forums but sadly missed out. So i contacted a wrecker with a z and here we are :
Its not perfect, nor did i expect it to be, after all the z is going to be a daily.. wear and tear is to be expected.
I cant explain how excited i am to rip off that ugly red square steering wheel this weekend to replace it with oem.
Ill upload a before and after shot once its done after this weekend :)

Also have purchased my Dynamat sound deadening. I couldn't choose between lite or extreme so i contacted the seller and he pretty much said what i assumed, the lite doesn't kill as much sound as the extreme and was more expensive off him... so i purchased extreme.

    That's all for now :zlove:

No not that at all, thought the suspension mods list was pretty nifty on the ad actually.

    So...

So guys ive hit a brick wall... i attempted putting my new steering wheel on and it seems there is a problem, is there a difference between turbo and non turbo steering wheels? It seems that the back cover of the steering wheel will not go onto the hicas module thing... can it be modified to fit? or am i doing something wrong?

Probably because it's a cruise control wheel. Got 3 rings on the back there for cruise? Hicas cruise cars don't have that. Take the horn pad off and you should be able to unscrew the ring assembly. Then I think the wheel should fit on.

    FD Asia

Sorry guys was down in Melbourne for the FD Asia event with Gavin and Josh... So no updates on the car, new steering wheel ordered in horrible condition, but i will just use the back so the nicer steering wheel will actually fit on the hicas... and also waiting on my Extreme Dynamat sound deadening in the mail :)

Still lots more to do, used like 3/4 of the bulk pack that the supplier said would be enough to do the entire car just in the boot...

    Also the steering wheel difference

Quick thanks to gmbrezzo for fixing my images :)

Hey again guys sorry the thread isnt coming along as fast as i thought it would but ive been having some personal things come up, but i finally got the weekend to do some work on her!

    Pics:

So i brought the dynamat bulk pack being advertised to do an entire vehicle and sadly it only done the Z's boot and doors... because of my financial situation i dont have money to be throwing @ her anytime soon as i have to save money to get her running 100% when the time comes i can drive her to work and put her on a hoist...

So for the momment im going to leave the dynamat at that and see how it goes when im actually driving it, if im not happy with it ill invest in another bulkpack or two and do the hatch, floor and maybe the inside firewall...

I always wanted to have a set of LM GT4's or Te 37s on the Z for forged leightedness but also because they are sex, and i know Subzero is selling his LM GT4's i look at them everyday and die alittle inside cause i cant afford it atm... So i wanted to know if you guys happen to know anything about the wheels on my z atm and maybe their worth for future reference?

    Pics:

They say "Real Modification" "Spec-VAV" and they are 17x8 unsure of offsets
And also if anyones heard of a muffler called "Racing Magnum"? Yeah they are whats on it atm too which i definitely plan on replacing

Thanks guys for your feedback and id be really grateful if anyone has any information on my cars wheels or exhaust :)
