we have all seen the lambo doors how they give that very nice and sporty look to your car but are they worth it or are they an obstacle every time you want to get in and out of your car and just start to annoy the crap out of you ?? can anyone state that they have seen up close and gone to sit in a zed with lambo doors and said to themselves that wasn't bad at all ?
Correct me if I am wrong, these doors can be opened like normal doors, or lambo doors. You don't have to open them like lambo doors all the time, mainly for show?
yes a quality set ,will open upwards or outwards (not cheap ebay junk !!) There is alot more to getting these installed than meets the eye They say bolt on,you have to actually get an engineering certificate ,rolled the edge of the guard etc Ademon(theo) got these on the wedding car and he will tell you all about the dramas he had, when he sees this thread. All that being said,im thinking about doing it over xmas :zlove: :zlove:
have a look at the angle of the doors u just posted. the doors open up normally to that angle then up...thats heapppssss of room to get out
and beware .. previous posts have pointed to cheap and nasty kits that are inadequate for the job .... !!!!! the 'bridal' zed in sydney had the real deal installed, i think ... (ademon???)
speak to a forum member called chobis his girlfriend has them on her Z32 I have seen a pic it looks cool but I heard they are defective coz they can fly of in a accident and would that work funy with the door monted seat belts?
not defective if you get a decent set as you have to get an engineering certificate .Not only registration purposes but also so you are covered by your insurance policy

2 things 1) Anyone with a garage would NEED a set that opens normally or upwards 2) I have heard these are ILLEGAL.... not on the street in fact.... BUT ON THE TRACK. Can anyone confirm or deny?
only downside would be when you need to fix a broken power window motor or replace a speaker or anything else that generally requires the door trim to come off... i'd do it if the hinges didn't cost that much. but before doing you'd better damn well make sure nothing in the doors will fail.
Trivia: The lambo doors are designed so when they are opened they resemble that of bull horns. If you look at the pic posted before, the zed pulls it off quite nicely.
i've been in a car with these, to be honest, found them really annoying. wasn't a zed. its a novelty value that will wear off. and as mentioned above, not part of the zed design, just don't work with it in my opinion. in saying that, neither were bodykits and subwoofers!!
you actually have to do a fair bit of modification to install them properly from what i have heard this includes welding of extra metal in a few places to strengthen, this includes welding extra braces accross the chasis rail
Not my cup of tea personally, but it can work if you pull it off nicely with the rest of the car... Worth the money? Nope, not even slighlty! lol
Practically anything is legal on the track. I can build my own car with a 27L V12 Merlin and go racing on the track, probably have trouble finding a category to race in though As for the Scissor doors... Belong on Lambo's and Delorians only.
