Disaster has struck! New semislicks, sway bars and tension rods, suspension set-up unfortunately by someone other than Leda Suspensions, Brendale. Scrubbed the tyres in for two sessions per instructions, the gave the car its head, found out the car was almost undriveable, having to fight it all the way around the track. I lost the car at Hungry, for those that know lakeside, fortunately I just spun onto the grass, no damage. Looking at the wear on the front tyres, its obvious that the set-up incorrect I did achieve a PB of 1.04sec but at no stage did I feel I had complete control of the car. I have no illusions of my capability and have enrolled in race driver training, but I do know when a car is behaving incorrectly. Does anyone know of someone capable of doing a race set-up on my car in the Brisbane area?
Ive used Tyretech before has been over a year now, they were where i bought my last set of RE55's, they have moved from Bowen Hills and im not sure if they have the same guy working for them, they used to have a few porsche race cars in there from time to time, I can't remember they guys name that I used to see thou sorry but he knew I did the public sprints at QR and I think he may remember fleet also. hope that may help a little I was going to come up to watch but played golf that morning so decided to veg for the arvo instead, I want to do lakeside but watching my money at the moment.
Who have you enrolled in race driver training with?? I have been contemplating doing this over the past few months but wasnt sure who and where runs it.
I rang up Queensland Raceways and spoke to Greg Fay or Fahey, He has a few enquiries re driver training and is going to get back to me on a half day at Lakeside. Will let you know or you can ring QR
Ken at Accurate Suspension but he is at Underwood Martin. I use Bridgestone at Enoggera lately because its convenient but I tell them the settings to do.
