    Hello
I'm putting my new knock sensor in soon but I've replaced l the wiering and put a new water proof narava plug on the loom and at the time wasn't paying attention to what wire was what.

My question is there are 2 pins from the knock sensor does it matter what wire goes to what pin? Or Does it work the same both ways??

    Thanks From rory

Only one wire actually runs to the sensor, the other is a shield wire.

So are you saying it dosnt matter witch pin the wire from the ecu goes to on the knock sensor?

What does the circuit diagram in the service manual tell you?
The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block, a sub harness connects the knock sensor to the wiring harness that connects to the ECU.
Have you performed the knock sensor circuit integrity check?
If not it could be worthwhile.

No I purchases a brand new sensor what I'm asking is what pin on the sensors is the one that connects to the ecu wire?

If you bought a new OEM sensor it is easy to figure out. If you ohm the pins in the sensor against the bottom metal part of the sensor (where it touches the engine) one of the pins should read about 0 ohm. The other one with more ohms (cant tell you the number) is the one your wire goes too.
The "-" side of the z32 sensor goes through the sensor bottom and via the engine. Other "normal" sensors do not have any continuity against the bottom of the sensor and use the other pin for its "-" side.

    Hope that made sense.
