Good luck, your work has been pretty good so you shouldn't have too much of an issue. How are you getting it done without the bonnet?

The guy said that he is fine with mod plating things that aren't finished yet, said he preferred it that way so he can have a good look around. I guess he doesn't like getting under cars :p No mod plate is required for bonnet scoops either, which is nice.

I've also been looking into the bonnet and the ADR's a bit more. No problem with a bonnet scoop/bulge as long as it is the same thickness of the original bonnet and has suitable bracing if the original bracing has to be cut or modified. :D

Also, there is no minimum set height under the ADR's since '07! It has specifically removed the 100mm clause and only the 1/12 thing which is good, specially for cars with a short wheelbase :D

Been having issues with it though :(

Keeps going into ECU limp mode, consult won't connect after the first 10 seconds and stuff like that. Will barely idle. I chucked on my spare ECU that I thought was fried (it won't connect to consult at all) and that works OK, idles fine, revs ok etc. Getting a slight miss on the pass side though. probably just a injector connector.

Ecu's have a habit of dying after being without power for a long period. Does it use the s1 or s2 type connectors on the injectors?

S1 on the injectors. I have some new connectors here to replace them with when I can be bothered.

I really hope the ECU thing is just a freak occurance and not something to do with my wiring. I can deal with one dead ECU, but not a dead one every few weeks...

Teething problems, Italian tune it, thats how all the pros do it....isnt it?

Sounds all rather promising atm, and its good to hear about the 100mm clearance change. Remember few years back quiet a few people i knew with hotted up holdens and such were getting done for having the air cleaners sticking out just a tad too much. Definitely looked bogan at the time but it was the look i guess. Same issue with the rear mounted scoops...

Qld are finally coming to their senses.

New rules are for ground clearance, not bonnet scoops :p There is no set height for bonnet scoops either, but there is minimum visibility requirements.

Lol talk about reading it wrong. I read your 2nd and 3rd paragraph as a combined set of info about the bonnet....only thing that did confuse me was the reference to the wheelbase...lol.

    Nevermind about that one then...

However last i knew going by what i was on about was that you're not aloud to protrude out of the bonnet more then 10cm.

Oh! Lookeesee whats I got! :D

So engine, Recaro's and Brembo's all mod plated and are now officially legal

$100 for the guy to come to my place, $50 for the engine, $50 for the seats and $100 for the brakes. Really very reasonable, and well worth it for the piece of mind with the cops/pits/insurance.

Intake is all done, piccies are on my other camera which is flat at the moment.

Ztoy is working on the bonnet bulge at the moment and it's looking good :D

I've got a bit of a miss on the pass side which is a PITA as you can't get to all the injector and coilpack connectors without pulling everything to bits. Gotta get another ECU so I can get consult running and do a power balance and work out where the problem is. I think I will redo the injector connectors first though, they are a bit old. Got to pull the plenum to do that though, which is quite frankly a bit of a crap job. The coilpack connectors are like new though, could be a coilpack issue though, the idle is pretty good.

    All that is left now:

    Finish bonnet
    Fit and paint front bar
    Work out thermofans
    Make airguides for radiator
Secure the loom and keep it away from the exhaust
    RWC and rego

Then it should be right to make the trip to Armidale, well pending a few trips up and down the coast to see how the temps and everything else go.
