Pull the coils out and blow the water out of the spark plug tubes.

    Defo electrical...

Narrow it down to spark or fuel. Crank it over a few times, pull plugs. If wet, and smell like fuel, you have fuel. If not check CAS plug for excessive moisture. Blow out, clean and reconnect.

If checking spark, pull coilpack 1, pull the insulation rubber off the end and lay on top of plenum. Crank over and check if sparking. No spark, check PTU.

Pull PTU plugs, blow out with air compressor, clean up and re-connect.

Failing that, as Ezzupturbo said, maybe immobilizer and/or earths at back of plenum.

    Series 2 PTU?

**Edit, if u have drenched the top of the engine also, (as Eric mentioned) it is possible the spark plug guides have become full of water thus earthing to the head or closest earth rather than then plug. Remove coil packs and check for excess water. Remove excess water, blow out coilpacks etc and reconnect**

Check the error codes. Go and do it now. It is always the first place to start.

After 10 days I doubt that it's a little bit of water in a connector.

No, but I bet there is a bit of water in the plug tubes.

Thanks to all who gave me advice and suggestions for getting the car started. Spent the whole day taking out coils, took all connections apart used a hair dryer. I'm sure I think my neighbours think I am now completely eccentric, but after all that she finally starts.
    thanks guys
