and the lamp holder from my current light has 3 tab tokeep it in place but the new one only has 2 has any one else had this do i just file out the correct spacing or can i get the right type of lamp holder frpm somewhere ie. cresta:?)
you can either get the wiring loom for that style of side indicator from TTZED and splice that loom into the existing one. OR you can modify the bulb holder but I found it didn't really hold in too well that way.
You can.....>> get the right type of lamp holder from TTZ Performance in Melbourne (http://www.ttzed.com) but I think most prople just filed an extra hole in their lenses last time. If you do a search you should find a few posts about it from the last time there was a group buy and everyone had the same issue.
mate, a pair of side cutters and... ... remove the two smaller tabs, cos of the rubber its still a tight fit and locks in place.perfect without them leave a bit of a konb and just force it in, holds perfect!
You modify both lamp holder + indicator After having done that I get a perfect secure fit. You can even feel it lock into place as I turn the lamp holder. It's a little difficult to explain perhaps I should take some pictures.
This is what I did...... I got a flat head screwdriver, with the end being about the same size as the little tabs. I lined up the plug on the back of the lens, and marked where the extra tab would go. I then heated the end of the screwdriver over the kitchen stove, and when hot just melted away the plastic so the extra tab would fit. With the rubber seal, it makes a nice tight fit and I've never had any probs.Cheers
This is because there are no lenses actually made for the Z32 by NISMO. These are actually for the Y32, but share the same shape. As a lot of you have already found out, the only difference is that they have a different bulb holder. The modification, or the other bulb holder is required.J.
I used a soldering iron to melt away 2 tabs for the smaller of the three tabs on the indicator holder. Slotted in and the then turned and locked the holder into place.Looks great too! Thanks Nathan
Hey Matt, go to Cresta and get the bulb holders from a Supra (I think) and a couple of female plugs (light brown) from a Z loom that match the male plugs that go to the old indicators, then just make up adaptor harnesses that fit with no cutting required.
