like crap :( Had a Quick look but its dark outside, doesn't look like the water has gone too far up into my engine or near electrics. No lights are coming on my dash. Water has probably gone up my exhausts (I have two large cannons), not sure how far it would have gone. It is running very rough like it's not firing properly and blowing heaps of smoke. My carpets are still damp so it's got inside the car. I am thinking that maybe my ECU has got wet  can this be dried out or sprayed with anything or is it stuffed if water has got near it? Sorry I am such a Nob and I am so worried, as I just spent $4000 getting my zed fixed so I am broke :( :(

Do you know how high the water got? It may have wet the spark plugs and all. You could try spraying some good old CRC type stuff into a vacuum pipe on the plenum somewhere while running the engine to clear out any water.

As for the ECU, if it got wet you can basically say goodbye to it. Open it up and have a look. It isn't hard to get to. You'll know by looking if it's broken.

Thanx for the advise, it doesn't look like it has gone

up into the engine too far (plugs etc) as there is a mark on the bottom radiator hose but doesn't look like it went above my UDP at all. Will look at my ECU tomorrow when i remove the carpet etc. Are the ECU expensive? I have a 91 Jap import NA 5speed. Thanx for any Info, much appreciated

Brand new ECU is probably expensive, but you can probably pick up any 300ZX ECU, socket it and get someone to flash you a new chip. Would probably be much cheaper.

I'd also spray electrical contacts with some sort of contact cleaner spray and check the ECU for error codes (in the tech section).

Well, if it got as high as the plugs, the ECU would definitely have got wet. Pull the interior out and check how hight the water got inside. Engine electricals is higher up and a lot more water resistant, so I would check around the ECU. A drop of water inside there could render it useless, but ECU's are plentiful.

Try warming it up properly and take it for a drive. That might clear your problems
