I have been told the jap spec 300zx is much lighter than the Australian 300zx, as it is made of much lighter materials. How much lighter is it? Thanks
this isn't perfect but it's the best estimates i have from private research. 2 seat NA slicktop: 1420KG 2 seat TT slicktop: 1490KG 2 seat NA targa (MAN): 1440KG 2 seat NA targa (AUTO): 1470KG 2 seat TT targa (MAN): 1510KG 2 seat TT targa (AUTO): 1540KG 2+2 NA (MAN): 1490KG - this is the same as AU spec curb weight 2+2 NA (AUTO): 1530KG 2+2 TT (MAN): 1555KG 2+2 TT (AUTO): 1585KG
I don't know about lighter materials - rather just less materials being shorter 3,186 lb (1,445 kg) 2 seater non-turbo T-top 3,373 lb (1,530 kg) 2 seater twin-turbo T-top 3,310 lb (1,501 kg) 2 seater twin-turbo hard top 3,432 lb (1,557 kg) 2 seater convertible 3,313 lb (1,503 kg) 2+2 non-turbo T-top 3,602 lb (1,634 kg) 2+2 twin-turbo T-top
Bump old thread rather than making a new one. Does anyone have or know of published/official weight of the 300zx models? I am looking for something I can present to the rego office.
The weights I posted have ended up on the Z32 wiki, didn't even realise this but I don't think printing off that is going to convince them. https://z32.wikispaces.com/Chassis+Differences Go take it to a weigh bridge and give them the paperwork?
You can find a list of specs including weights for different Z32 models here http://www.automobile-catalog.com/model/nissan/fairlady_z_4gen_z32.html It claims that a 1990 2 seater manual TT weighs 1520 kg
I got a 94 version S. Claims it is 1530. The numbers are little out, depending on where you look, they will only accepted Nissan quoted figures.
Rego only accepts the weight recorded on the prior rego or on the compliance plates, or if it hasn't been registered then a weigh bridge is part of the blue slip process.
