    Did a pretty quick search couldnt find anything just wondering if a jap spec ecu in a non turbo manual is the same aus deliverd model, would of been covered before im guessing.

    Nope, different fuel and timing maps. But you can swap them between the cars without any dramas. Jap ECU's are tuned for high octane fuel (98-100RON), Aus ECU's for 95RON.

    could that be a contributing factor to high fuel consumption, is it worth swapping to an aussie one or buying an aftermarket one

    Define "high" fuel consumption?

    well i think its high fuel consumption, i get about 380km out of a tank while driving like a granny with a few squirts every now and again

    That's pretty normalish, is that to when the fuel light comes on? The Zed has about 12L in reserve when the light comes on. How much do you put in at the servo?

    Your O2's may be getting old. Get someone to check it with Conzult and do a vac leak test on it, check TPS etc.

    N/A or TT?
    I hate to be the bearer of bad news but so do I. ~400km to a tank is about the norm around here.
    What I suggest you do is fill her up completely and then do a tank's worth of driving. Then check how much fuel goes back in to bring it back to full. The Z has a 65L <EDIT> Actually 72 </EDIT> tank, from memory, and I usually get about 14L/100km. So by the time I've done ~400K's it's drained around 55-60L, so there's still room to do about another 60-70km's when it hits the Empty line.
    There are a few things that you can do to make fuel efficiency better, but I'll let someone with more technical experience than I (read: Chrispy) to give you that sort of info :D

    <EDIT>
    And, just as I suspected, Chrispy beat me to the punch, good man! :p
    </EDIT>

    i got 370km from a full tank with around 7 or so litres left in the tank after checking how many litres i filled up on the docket. what would i be looking at cost wise to get those few things checked. would and aus ecu help at all even if it was the O2's etc that was playing up

    With a Jap ECU?
    If so I'm not confident that changing to an Aus-spec ECU will be all that beneficial. Do you use 98RON or 95RON fuel?

    Also; getting your ECU checked for fault codes and an O? sensor diagnostic shouldn't be all that expensive. Check with someone from QLD for a place that will do it properly for you :D

    duuuude... fix your O2 sensors. mine are shot in my TT and i get more Ks out of a tank.

    im getting consistently over 400km out of ~55L and believe i dont granny drive it lol.

    Got TT and i use them [TIS]

    My NA will get 500+ on highway driving and it's probably due for an O2 sensor change aswell.

    Damn whats with all the bad fuel consumption here? my zed hit 480km city driving and has hit 714km highway driving but that was ALL highway.

    Same with mine, return trip from armidale i did around 400km on just over half a tank.

    i envy your fuel consumption, its costing me a fortune running it on 95 and 98ron and its barely better on highway driving

    Well spend $200 and get new O2's. But chuck Consult on it first to check.

    do all 300s have a low fuel light?

    ive been waiting for mine to come on in my 89 Jspec NA and the needle has been nearly off the scale and no light ever comes on, and it still takes a good 60 litres when i fill it up.

    I may have to get my O2 checked out to, because my fuel usage is also huge :(

    Sometimes the bulb is blown or there is a issue with the sender. You can pull the cluster out and check the bulb, if its still good pull the fuel pump out and test the sender.
