Its the day I pulled all my details from my profile. It will be the day I'll make an account up for email then delete it.

lets see if the communite can clean up this mess that this clown has made and try to save the moderaters time and effort .

I do think it's time that new members joining this forum are asked for a little more detail - like their full name and State at the very minimum. Although I realise that anyone who is intent on mischief can invent that info. But there can't be too many people out there as psychotic as this last pathetic individual who invaded our space.

Perhaps other members have some better ideas.

Why stop helping strangers (worthy of help) just because someone decides to use our forum as a toilet? It's the internet and unless the mods decide to impose IP address blocking then not much can be done.

Yes, its sad; but its the internet and people can hide behind keyboards and say whatever they want knowing full well they wouldn't have the "balls" to say that to their face. Its part of the internet - just like spam!

Whats really disappointing is that he isn't some teenager whose just got the internet, someone who is nearly 30 should have more of an idea. *shrug* maybe he still lives at home with Mummy.

I know ZXxx was rather frustrated and felt violated about being called on his mobile. He too has removed his details from his profile.

Saddest part - this loser won as he has caused a ripple on the forums, which is what he set out to do!

 

I agree. I think his behaviour was appalling, but what seemed to incite...

him was the blatant racist remarks that were made on Friday about people from the Middle East. Some responsibility has to go to those members as well.

All told, it doesn't excuse what he did, but also doesn't pardon the remarks that had been made.

maybe its time for a few things to happen >>

1) mods actually delete this stuff before it gets that far!
2) add more mods, as NONE of the current mods were even online while this was going on.... its not like we didnt have a fair few people online - so an ACTIVE mod would of been handy!
3) maybe it can be set that people with less than 100 posts can have there posts VTD'd with only 2/3 votes
4) contact details remain hidden until you reach 100+ posts.

personally i think this butt-monkey has highlighted the serious lack >

of moderators.... with a members list in the thousands - is 3 or 4 mods really enough??

and before bringing up the VTD function, its yet again been proved that it DOESNT WORK!

ive been a mod of a few forums, and the best way to stop fucktards like this causing issues is to delete there threads before they get out of hand, they will get bored soon enough once all there messages are gone! i dont think any real members of this forum would have any issues with this kind of moderation, as its quite clear he and others like him arent here to be apart of the community....

rather than anything in particular setting him off, i really do think that he was a cracker ... probably fired up up with a mixture of alcohol plus, plus .. saw heaps of similiar behaviour during my career .. totally illogical, "me and my friends",unable to hold a line of discussion,taking everything as a personal insult and resorting to personal abuse as a final defence.

we have over 3000 members and should not let one oddball kill a great forum for the many .. and the poor ol' moderators, i don't think that we can expect however many to be online 24 hours a day ... it was only by chance that i couldn't sleep last night and was there for the whole event !!!

I know I made my thoughs fairly plain on that thread last night, and I was OK with it all until race all of a sudden became an issue.

I probably don't know all the mods, but maybe you need another moderator in QLD and also WA if there aren't enough there already, and then you will have a better coverage of all the timezones. I signed off at 12:55am (1:55 for NSW and Vic timzones), but WA would have been 3 hours or so earlier.

Also, IMHO VTD should be availble all the time, because who knows when a thread will be come infected.

Anyway, if you want a moderator volunteer, your reading a post from one.

More moderators in more timezones would be greatly beneficial...unfortunately there are only about 10 - 15 members in WA with a post count over 500...and even less over a 1000. I believe andrew (risk) would happily take on the responsibility of a mod, as would I....I just regret becoming involved in the antic's last night, but couldn't help it when I saw the attacks becoming personal.

he was a shit stirrer. No joke Ian made would change how he behaved. In fact, if it was the joke that made him 'crack' then I thank Ian very much, for bringing out that losers true colours sooner rather than later when some forum member gets screwed by the guy.

Doubtful it was the joke though. Much more plausible he used it as an excuse to turn forum members on each other to stir more shit. He just couldn't stand people not being in agreement with him and behaving like his sheep.

So far, I have had no bad experiences, but I have though about such things happening and taking my number out for those reasons.

But, I guess it wont happen until I get a bad experience, just like my driving habits.
