what I should do about the computer in my car, as im not sure what has been done to it and my problem is at the moment, Im getting 300km to a tank of fuel, iv changed 02 sensors and AFM and still the same, some one said if its a chiped computer from japan it might not be configered to our fuel and might be giving me less power.
So any help any details would be great and if you need any more info please reply to post.

If not should I just wait for the tech day in NSW at WORKBURNERS place, would love to hook it up to conzult.

    Cheers

    Never seen a Jap tune....

    ...that works well here.
About the best would be the Mines PROM that's not too bad.
I've got a standard PROM laying abouts if you want to try.
I get about 300k's to half a tank usually. Have you checked for fuel leaks? Any smell of petrol?
    Cheers,

    Yeah mate

I only get around 300kms to a tank of fuel - BP ultimate, my O2s are fine, no errors. I haven't check boost leak and I am about to get a ECU upgrade soon, I am hoping that will help - along with finding any boost leaks.

    i get about 350kms

to a full tank... my conzult came up fine and i got new 02 sensors... i mostly do city driving so maybe that kills the economy... i find it hard to believe that the other dude gets 300kms on half tank.

Ryno...I've got a stock chip in my glove box...

don't ask, I burnt it with my current setup just incase i wasn't happy with it and wanted to change it back, If yours has been chipped and socketed already then we can put it in and you can run it for a while. Maybe for some more draught eh??

You may not want to do this, but my advice is ......

to go a step at a time.

Why do you know there is something wrong with the computer? Maybe you know something that you have not included in this post, but there is nothing that indicates this is the cause of excessive fuel consumption. (Maybe I've misread something.)

It may or may not be the computer. There are a lot of other factors that could result in poor consumption. It's easy to focus on one thing as the cause only to find out later that this was fine all the time (I've done this before).

Get as much as can be checked by experienced Zed mechanics (or equivalent) first. Rule of thumb is Rule out first. e.g. start with the obvious - Conzult, check MAF, TPS, clean connectors etc etc.

It will take some time but you will rule things out and narrow down as you go.

It is easy to spend heaps, by replacing and replacing this and that parts in search of a solution .... a random approach.

Again, it would be good to get someone on board who knows Zeds.

Having said that, I'm sure Doug (Red32) cannot tell why he gets ridiculous consumption >500km per tank).

    Just my opinion.

    cheers,

    Peter

    300 easy.

Though the fuel guage is not real accurate.
About 120k's on the first quarter, then I get maybe 180k's till it's spot on half a tank.
Next quarter about 120k's and the last quarter maybe 100k's till it's close to reserve with ten litres remaining.
And that's a mix of mostly highway a lil around town.
    Believe it or not. :)

Yea the last mechanic checked for fuel leaks, lazy fuel pump....and

changed the spark plugs, changed the AFM, dyno tuned the car, I guess he also missed that the solanoid plugs wernt pluged in, i wish there was a experianced zed mechanic on the coast. But I wouldnt mind trying the stock chip as you can see in the car alot of preformance parts have been taken out of the car, meaning why the solanoid plugs were not pluged in.
Would love to get a conzult hooked up to it. I want to change all the conector plugs next, and dose any one think its best to change over to a type 2 PTU, do you just put it in the same place and no worrys.

So andy draught hey, you'll be at the next cruise / tech day.

    Any idea's guys I'll try.

    Cheers
