Hope everyone (and their zeds) got back home nice and safe. It was a good cruise, nice to have a relaxing cruise round that part of the state. Thanks to cru1sr for putting this one together - it was good fun
was a great hour or so for me picking up in leongatha but Zed be a Zed 3/4's the way home i started to run low on power.... got home nice and safe but cannot use cd player or high beams
That sucks, you reckon its the alternator playin up again? Also do you have consult - could tell you why youre stalling at the lights and stuff
i dont stall at light or anything im just running out of battary non stop i might buy a brand new battary and give that a shot and if it starts again i will look into it more
btw i loved your car today was definatly my favorite loved the canons and the whole look of the car very clean
Good cruise guys, I'm sure the photographers will be on soon to post them up. Even better day to come home and watch the cats smash north.
That was great time to me ( I am new member ) . Very well organize cruise , great to meet people on the forum . Thanks .
Ditto on that! It was good to meet you too Dinh, and our other new member Daniel and his Mum, nice to have new members along to get a taste of a Zed Cruise, and might I say (Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear accent applied!) it was a jolly well organised cruise at that. A perfect one for new comers too... long open roads and beautiful countryside and some gentle twisties as well! Thanks Cliff, well done mate! All good company as usual too... here's a couple of pics By redn1ssn at 2011-05-07 By redn1ssn at 2011-05-07 Pulled into the Pub for a regroup and summary of the next leg of the journey (no Guinness Involved at this stop!) I'm sure Cliff has some more pics to post up when he gets a chance! Thanks again for a great day out all who attended! Cheers!
Hey everyone. It was great to meet a few new forum members and to see a few ol' friends again. My day started at 5.30am on the dot when my daughter decided she wanted to get up. I only had about 5 hours sleep 'cause I went out for dinner and a few drinks with some friends on the night before. I got to Thompson Road and turned back 'cause I forgot my camera. Dang. Got to McDonalds and had some artificial sausage meat on a muffin, plastic orange juice and imitation potato hash browns at McDonalds. Nice... We all stood around the car park as we waited for a couple of lost Zedders. It was all good though as it was the best opportunity to talk to a few new members. We hit the road at about 9:30am and made it to Inverloch for coffees, second breakfasts and to talk more about Zeds. We then did a stretch to Leongatha via a couple of back roads. At Leongatha, most of the Zedders visited a few shops to actually buy cards and / or presents 'cause we forgot about Mother's Day. We stood around the car park and looked at Zeds (like you do on a Zed cruise) and then headed to Morwell on some nice bendy roads. Shame about the bus that most of us got stuck behind. The final leg was a pretty easy drive on the Princes Freeway back to Pakenham. It was a great day. Like all other Zed cruises I've been on, we didn't have to remind anybody to refrain from doing stoopid sh!t which would give Zedding a bad name. Good work. There were a couple of firsts for me: - First L Plater on the cruise. Hey - you gotta start somewhere. - First Mazda RX-7. It was a Series III. Very coooool. - First time I saw someone run over a cat. This happened on the Princes Highway when I was driving home. Poor kitty. Here are a few pictures: I was taking a pictures of Liam's arse when this Mazda 7 got in the way
loven the photos especially the two of all of the cars lined up and just another thanks for making the day possible :zlove:
Thanks mate. The good thing about the recent Victorian cruises is there are a few budding photographers that like to capture all of those Kodak moments. Search the Post Event Discussion section for photos that R31 Gagz and Big Col have put up. Now that Kingy (BADZX) has bought lots of professional camera equipment at bargain basement prices, we're hopping to see some of his creative photography come out soon. Me? I either forget my camera or tripod or wide angle lense or battery etc. etc. I'm lucky to get out of my own front door and remember the start point to a cruise. Cheers.
Great pics Cliff. Wish I could have made it but too many things happening around my place lately. Hopefully I should be right for the next cruise!
Hey - stop complaining. You got to go to the US instead. I would love an OS holiday but I think travelling with a 17 month old would be Hell on Earth. I do want some feedback on whether we can make this a yearly event though. My thoughts? - The route was mostly sedate with the last legs being where the twisties were. A mix for beginners and regulars. Should we change it to take a couple more 'B roads'? - We pulled over a couple of times (as per most cruises) for anybody falling behind to catch up. I have no problem with this but what we could do instead is just designate the next stop (e.g. xyz cafe at Inverloch, main st of Leongatha etc) so everyone can drive at their pace. - Next year we could make it to Venus Bay as the first stop instead of Inverloch. If we make it the same time of year, we could park at one of the ocean beach car parks as there wouldn't be that many cars and take lots of photos. That's my 2 cents anyway.
Standard practice is for each car to watch the car behind them and keep them in sight rater than worrying about keeping up with the car in front (who should be keeping an eye on them in turn).
Had traffic lights and roadwork combo near the start cause one of these. Other the rule wasn't adhered to, although we probably didn't explain this one at the start to the newbies. Next time I thought the start and end was a bit sedate and would prefer more B roads, I guess the issue out there is if the B roads are actually more like D roads. The twisty section was good though. Also I'm sure you can organise less trucks and busses through the twistys Allthough they did make for some good overtakes. also I think there is an ocean rd from wonthaggi to inverloch Would be great if we could get a an ocean car park to line the cars up and take pics with the ocean in the background. Would look awesome. And I have to say dinh, your front panel flapping around freaked me out Good cruise :br:
