Does anyone with a synthetic trim kit have anything to say about it? I'm considering it since I wouldn't be covering the front seats, otherwise I'd go genuine. Is it worth considering or is genuine the only way to go no matter what?

All depends on how well it's tailored. If the syn kit is laid well it will look pretty good. It really is the only way it looks poxy and diy'd. I've gone the leather retrim kit but am waiting till I have adequate time to lay it down and hopefully achieve the pro look.

I'm wondering if the synthetic stuff just looks like vinyl, rather than leather. Does it have the that leather texture or is it just smoothish? does it actually look cheap in comparison? or is it the feel of it? I figure it shouldn't been too hard minus the seats?

You're talking the kit from Khalid?

Get him to post you a sample. He'll do that no worries.

There are a few members that have used his synthetic kit and it looked much better then the el'cheapo vinyl look shit.
