Anyone know where i can find ( if its written anywhere ) the average Temp of our zeds under boonet general area and also the temp that the intake manifold gets to?

Im thinking of doing a run of painted manifolds with any left over paint i get from other jobs. We ussualy bake between 65c - 80c so i know the paint / clear can handle those temps no problem but im thinking under bonnet / intake mani would get anywhere between 100-150ish ? or maybe not
    ?

    Any ideas?

Ooooh damn thats actually quite cool under there, what about the temp of the actual plenum it self though, no.2 doesnt say if its just near the plenum or actually on it :(

in my experience, 2 k wont take last on engines, engine bays and other parts are ok, but it will crack on engines. I dont know if its the direct heat or just the number of heat cycles that does it, or the different expansion rates, but ive had it crack on blocks, water pupms, almost anything engine related

Hmm i don't think it will be the heat as if it is under 80c under bonnet then that wont effect the 2k... Maybe its the cycles as you say, weird for it to crack on a water pump, shouldn't get to hot on there?

yeah, look i dont get it either, sometimes a bonnet will get hot enough in the sun to fry an egg, but on engine stuff it just doestn seem to last.

Im just going off experience on previous engines. I think it might still be worth trying on a plenum since the materials may have improved over the past few years and i dont htink a plenum would get any hotter than a panel in the sun.

Maybe try it one one of your own before going to customers stuff?

I will probably spray one up and if i ever get to do a plenum pull ill throw it on for a few months n see how it goes.
