Shannons are Just Cars?? I just spoke with Shannons who advised they own Just Cars and their quotes are worked out on the same basis....I found this suprising, I thought they were competitors?
yep, NRMA knows it's an import... They even asked me if it was the Fuel Injected or Twin Turbo model... I was surprised also... but the proof is in the policy which we seemed to go over about 4 times... the word 'import' came up plenty. If you do an online quote, you can actually pick Import (IMP) from the list of 300zx's...
Shannons Premium: $765 Agreed Value: $27,000 Free Windscreen per annum if broken/damaged. Driver: Same as RZM ( way over 25 :LOL Excess: $500 Rating: 1 Tried others over the years of ownership, & have found that Shannon's have the best prices for Grey Imports. And NO Baz, that doesn't mean its Grey.:LOL::LOL: Cheers Kerry :zlove:
keza thanks for that clarification ... i reckon that if i was returning to australia, i would be classified as a grey import ..!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::wacko::wacko:
shifter .. some companies, and shannons is one, will do something like you are asking ... for an 8000km limit per year, they will reduce your premium ... some others call it something like "frequency of use" clause....
Crazy Man insuring seems like a bit of a nightmare, when I first got my Z earlier in the year NRMA said they wouldn't touch it becasue it was an import, Shannon's were really rude and the guy said if it was a daily use type vehicle then they wouldn't do it although I'd be lucky to do 10000km a year in it due to having another car, Just cars would only do third party, fire anf theft and the theft only covered for $5000. I am 27 with rating one on my other car so that isn't the problem. I have the third party with Just Cars considering my bloody car has been on the road only 2 weeks out of the last 6 months it was a bit of a waste. I guess I better got on the phone and look up some of these places, I like the NRMA so fingers crossed.
NRMA quoted me 4500 for an under 25 driver =( I have rating 2 with justcars though so yea... Prob with them is you have to leave the car dead stock, the best bit about just car is the unlimited mods part
Re: NRMA quoted me 4500 Was that an online quote or on the phone? I just tried online and couldn't get one until I changed my age to 30.
all 3 are actually owned by the one group but they all do operate seperate to each other, aami for you regualr cars, just cars for you mods and trouble drivers and shannons for you special and enthusiast, but as far as i know they work like every other compnay and can't just look at each others info, as when i switched from just cars to shannons i still had to request just cars send a drivers history over shannons couldn't just get it
thats very rude i have mine thru shannons and it is a daily driver and the guys in hobart were more than willing to insure it
Sorry to bump this up again Any fresh news on the insurance front for Victorian twin turbos? Rating 1 over 50? If not I think I'll just head for Torque Lumley. Thanks John :zlove:
Insurance recommendations Ok Im 20, turning 21 in feb 1989 TT 300zx 2 seater My mods are listed in my profile. At present i have most things listed on my insurance except i think my clutch and fly Im with SGIO and just got my upcomming insurance premium. I have a 45% no claim and going to cost me about $1400 this year. Im happy to pay the $1400, its a reasonably good price for my age, however I cant get agree'd value. Can anyone suggest somewhere else that WILL insure me and do agreed value?
Postcode is every bit as important as the car and the driver. My daughter's Magna premium nearly halved when she moved from home ( PC 2176) to her new place on the Central Coast (PC 2261). It seems I live in an undesirable area, insurance wise. My Zed is with Shannons, $17,000 agreed value, Rating 1, locked garage, over 30, 8000k limit, postcode 2176 = $1,043. I am moving up the Central Coast myself soon; it will be interesting to see what happens to my insurance premium. Cheers:zlove: Barry
