Just received my insurance renewal from HBF for my TT. Found out that the agreed value remained the same, my no claim bonus had gone up and the policy (paid fortnightly) had gone up too....WTF!!!!!!!!!.Speaking to HBF, I found that there had been an increase in premium but they dont have to tell me. Bit suss I thought. But its only $51 a year son, its not much. So whats the good of this bloody no claim bonus I ask. Every time I get go up a level, I end up paying more anyway so what is its benefit for me from last years policy. Dead silence on either side of the phone. Then I noticed that they still had a finance company on the insurance policy. Now as my duty of disclosure, when I paid out the car I notified this insurance company in person and asked them to remove the finance company from the policy. they didnt AND.......It turns out that this causes my premium to drop by some amount. She couldnt tell me over the phone by how much it had affected my premium for my gain in case I got a bum steer and sued em or some crap like that. Am waiting for a call from the underwriters on Monday.    So guys if you've paid off your car, take note and save some dough. I want to know if I get all the extra money back that I have been paying since I last informed them. Dont like my chances. BTW my policy is $2128.00 a year for $20k agreed value with mods....Probably high cause I was always in the shit when I was growing up.

I think its about $50/year extra

for having finance on your car. Whenever you change something on your policy (like notifying them of the finance change) you should always ask for an updated copy of the cover.Yeah your cover does sound quite high. What sort of mischief did you get up to and how old are you now? At the moment, with all my mods listed and agreed value of $35k Im paying just under $1,100 a year.

Nath and Andrew which ins company

are you guys with?????????? If its HBF I am going to kill someone......when they sent me the policy I noticed TT wasnt included in the policy as per your advice I think Nathan. When I told them the policy wasnt correct they said "sorry we didnt realise it was tt import" and proceeded to up my premium. I wasnt very happy but then I just wanted the car covered as I was leaving town for a while and just needed peace of mind. What did I get up to?????hmmmmm I wasnt an angel - did a lot of very silly stupid things when I was getting to the age I am now 33- ie mini burnout in datto 200b at a red light turning right - 2am no cars bar the one behind me WHICH WAS UNMARKED COP CAR!!!!!!!FFS . That one incident was a DUI, driving recklessly, running a red light, cant remember the rest. Lesson learned. I reckon they nailed me for the datto. Dont drink at all now and gave up smoking as a side effect as well as the datto 200b. AND MY BROTHER IN LAW IS NOW A COP!!!!!!!!!! Go figure.

    EvZ with HBF too...

My driving record sounds very similar to yours with the exception of the burnout. My brother in law is also a cop :)I've just renewed insurance with HBF. I pay $736 per year for $20 000 agreed value. I've got a 'advantage diver' policy with a 55% no claim. My policy states 'Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo 2d Coupe'. It might be time to call HBF and get things straightened out.Regards,
    Evan.
