Hi people... I'm trying to get my injectors out of the rails... has anyone else got the phillips head screws on their injector caps going into the rails? The tech articles i've seen have hex bolts going into the rail... these screws are tighter than anything I have come across before... I've hurt my shoulder trying to get them out.... so far i've gotten like four out of twelve out after a day of soaking in WD40. Anyone else have any tips on how to get them out faster. I was thinking vice grips maybe.

I had to use vicey's on a couple of mine too

Now I have a small air impact screwdriver that is just perfect for the job. I will be replacing mine with hex bolts when I remove them for the 5th time :)

Yes they are all VERY tight and all phillips head. As mention impact or use good vice grips especially if you have damaged the head from trying with a screw driver. You can get a product which I can't remember the name of, and it is in my tool box at work that is called Grip It, or something that. It has grey gritty type sand in a liquid which you squeeze a small amount of in the head of the screw and it suddenly hase heaps more traction. It realy works and stops the screw driver jumping out. If removing the injector it is important to seal them properly when reinstalling them. Sealing the injectors with new seals and rubber grease or Wurth Rubber Car spray will prevent leaks. If removing the injectors with out damaging them is another story.
