    Hi all

I need to know is there a difference between an NA and TT flywheel in either thickness, number of teeth and or overall diameter. And lastly do they take the same clutch diameter etc.

I could have checked a week ago on the build engine but its gone now and I am a little stuck. HELP

    Cheers

Different, the TT fly even has a slightly raised platform machined into it for the clutch plate to bed against which the NA does not.

If the starter motors are anything to go by the NA is a different size too. If you try to bolt up an NA starter to the TT it simply will not fit and requires shimming.

yeah I know Brad I was just curious as to the overall diameter differences and was hoping peeps would have some laying around to measure for me.

This is for an adaptor to mate the VG box to another engine but need the flywheel sizes to finalise the CAD drawings and get it made up

    Cheers

Sure, just take your car here. I'll lend you all the tools and watch you pull the gearbox and clutch out.

Then I'll measure it for you.

The NA flywheel is slightly smaller diameter, as is the NA gearbox bell housing. Not sure exactly how much but I think it might be around 5 to 10 mm, you'd have to measure them.

The NA clutch is also smaller.
