your tyre placard will tell you this.

As far as I know you may only run rims that are on your tyre placard only. tyres maybe 15 mm above or below the placard sizes.

Aussie delivered were up to 17 x 9

    1996 300ZX Anniversary model had 17 x 9 all around. In USA the SMZ had 18 x 9.5 rear and 17 by 9 front.
The laws in NSW area bit vague stating not stick out past guard and the size wider and higher than factory depends on weight. From memory you can go at least an inch higher and wider as long as does not stick out past the guards. I must get the latest rules from RTA or might be a website that states what they are. In VIC and other states might be similar?

in VIC its 2" larger than stock, and as wide as you want

as long as it doesn't rub any of the strut / outer guard.

I was defected earlier this year for tyres

among other things and to get passed the only conditions were to be within +/- 15mm from the sizes on the placard and that they didn't rub the strut or hang out the gaurd. On an 18" wheel there are not many legal sizes and the ones available are very expensive in the well known brands ($600+ each). I'd hate to think how much they'd cost for 19", probably have to be 215/30 at the most otherwise they'd be too large in OD.
