I'm unsure if it's a 91 or 89, as im reading and seeing conflicting evidence.. Rego papers say 91 but when are vic roads ever right?

the vin that i got is 6E91IMPORTWHT08086 (the last 8 may be a 3) and an engine number of VG30637671W....

Before we all start with the search thing, i went through some tech articals and could match any thing up to what i need....

Anyone seen this car before? or know any history?

    Cheer
    - Chris

P.S wouldnt mind knowing were or how to get my hands on the light up center rear pannel (saw one on a white zed, the back lit up blue, it was horn)

there should be a silver plate at the front of the engine bay with the model no. on it. you can use that to verify the year of manufacture, one of the tech section articles has the range of model numbers that correspond to the year of manufacture.

It looks pretty good. The wheels are pretty rare too so if you ever decide to get new wheels there's definately people who would want to buy them.

Did you get an inspection done? Who'd you take it to?

Be less worried about the year and more interested in the

mechanical condition of the car. Have a look at Zed4life's Zedcare.com site to check out all of the maintenance that should be done, if not already done by the previous owner. Costs can add up, although if you can some of the work yourself the tech support and member's knowledge on this site is incredible.

It looks like a nice zed from the photos. Good luck.

looks good. as for the wheels they are "rare" because they are so frikken gross and no body wants them

    few things

These cars often look tidy in & out, being a sport car they do get looked after in that way. The devil is in the electro & mechanical gear inside.

I highly recommend you get someone who knows these cars to put it on datascan to check for error codes and general operation such as revs, O2 sensors, temperature, etc.
There are also diagnostics for the HICAS rear wheel steering and the air con systems.

There should be no smoke from the zorst (contrary to popular belief). Smoke shows anything from a tired engine, faulty PCV system, turbos on the way out, bad tuning, safety mode.

    Top three costly mechanical things would be (IMHO);
Driveline vibration (feel through the seat in neutral at about 70km)
Stuffed turbos (whining, smokey zorst, oil in SMICs, slow or no boost)
Tired engine (low compression, & fails leakdown test).

Hey Mate - I don't want to spoil your decision, but if it...

is still for sale, you should have a serious look at J4Play's Zed. It's cheaper and it is one hell of a Zed. Some serious mods done to it that will cost you a small fortune should you decide to go up the upgrade path most Zedders follow.

    It's in Vic too.

    Just a thought.........
